  • Patent number: 6795416
Abstract: The base station transceiver in a CDMA mobile communication system is configured to have a separate hardware component for performing only a Viterbi decoding apart from a single hardware H/W that performs a composite function of modulation/demodulation and Viterbi encoding/decoding. The modulator and the Viterbi encoder are provided in one hardware by sectors; more than one demodulator being provided by sectors for demodulating signals from multiple users. And, more than one Viterbi decoder is separately provided for performing a Viterbi decoding of the signals demodulated at the plural demodulator constituted in each sector, thereby facilitating a decoding of demodulated signals received from multiple users and enhancing efficiency of the hardware.

  • Publication number: 20010033573
Abstract: Disclosed is an ATM adaptation layer apparatus. The ATM adaptation layer apparatus according to the invention includes an ATM adaptation layer processor connected to an external Utopia level 2 matching device for processing and outputting a virtual path and a virtual channel of input/output cell data, an ATM routing processor having one end connected to the ATM adaptation layer processor and the other end connected to an external ATM switch for processing a routing path of the input cell data, and a controller for downloading program data from outside, generating corresponding control signals, and outputting data on a communicating status to outside. Under the conventional technology, data services are provided in a low speed in a narrow bandwidth, which is the worst drawback of the line exchanging method. Under the present invention, by contrast, the bandwidth is enhanced from a minimum 2M bps to a maximum 622M bps.

  • Patent number: 6275696
Abstract: The present invention is provided to process more than one level 2 protocols by implementing a signalling link of the level 2 at a message transfer part in a common channel signalling system. Internal devices within a central processing unit and a control function of a signalling link controller are initialized and data of the signalling link controller received at the central processing unit is processed for transmit/receive to/from the upper level. A state of a level 3 receiver buffer within the central processing unit is checked, a primitive of data which was received from a level 3 but not processed is analyzed, and the primitive is performed at the signalling link controller, wherein a plurality of level 2 protocols can be processed.
