Abstract: Disclosed is a method for processing VOD data in a mobile station including a multimedia processor and an MSM for controlling the mobile station. The method comprises the steps of negotiating PPP option information by performing PPP negotiation for making communication with a server when the mobile station accesses to a WAP through the MSM; transmitting the PPP option information negotiated through the MSM to the multimedia processor; setting a VOD data route using the transmitted PPP option information as PPP information of the multimedia processor; processing VOD data, which are received in the MSM according to the VOD data route, up to an RLP layer of the VOD data, and then transmitting the VOD data to the multimedia processor; and processing the VOD data, which are transmitted to the multimedia processor, from a PPP layer which is a lowest layer in the multimedia processor.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for multi-tasking in mobile terminal having multimedia processor for video-on-demand (VOD) services that identifies port of each data received during use of VOD service and processes data to enable user to implement any other network application program simultaneously with use of VOD service. Method provided includes setting port number for VOD services of multimedia processor and accessing VOD server when demand for VOD services is received, processing VOD data received through the set port number to deploy VOD services, determining whether port number of data received during VOD services is identical to the set port number. When the port number of the received data is identical to the set port number, recognizing received data as VOD data to deploy VOD services, when not, recognizing received data as general data and sending it to MSM from the multimedia processor, and processing general data sent to the MSM.

Abstract: A multimedia playback control apparatus and method for a mobile terminal are provided and include an apparatus and method for determining whether a fast forward (FF) command or a rewind (REW) command is input while replaying multimedia content, displaying, if a fast forward command or a rewind command is input, reference frames of the multimedia content, determining whether a release command is input while displaying the reference frames, and restarting the playback of the multimedia content from a playback position corresponding to an instant at which the release command is input.

Abstract: A DRM method and DRM-enabled mobile device are provided, in which determinations are made as to whether a playback request is input for replaying a media file, and, if so, whether the media file is a rights-protected media file on the basis of a file format of the media file. If the media file is a rights-protected media file, at least one sample playback part of the rights-protected media file is verified and replayed; otherwise, the entire rights-protected media file is replayed.

Abstract: Apparatus and method are provided for processing video on demand (VOD) video data in a mobile terminal capable of receiving a VOD service. An input window for VOD video data to be adjusted is displayed in preset frame rate (FR) adjust mode for adjusting an FR of the VOD video data to be received. When the FR of the VOD video data to be adjusted is input into the input window, the input FR of the VOD video data is transmitted to a server. When the VOD video data service is provided in a streaming manner, a user can adjust the FR of VOD video data through the method. Therefore, the user can receive video data such as advertisement broadcasting in which the user takes no interest at a low FR, thereby reducing unnecessary packet data fees.

Abstract: In a system and method for transmitting data of a mobile terminal, a transmitting mobile terminal sends to a server a request for data transmission to a receiving mobile terminal, and is assigned an Internet Protocol (IP) address in response to the request. The receiving mobile terminal receives a message indicating that the transmitting mobile terminal has made the request for data transmission, and a guide message including information of the assigned IP address. Then the receiving mobile terminal accesses the IP address included in the guide message and downloads the data from the transmitting mobile terminal.

The apparatus and method comprise inputting text to be displayed, storing it as a text file and selecting a moving picture file to be linked with the text file so as to set a text file to be replayed simultaneously with playback of the moving picture; executing a moving picture mode via operating keys when the portable terminal is in a stand-by mode, determining whether a moving picture playback mode is selected, and displaying a list of stored moving picture files when the moving picture playback mode is selected; and selecting a moving picture file to be replayed from the list of moving picture files so that the text file can be replayed and displayed simultaneously with playback of the moving picture.

Abstract: A bookmark service apparatus and method for moving picture content. The bookmark service method bookmarks a playback interval requested by a user who desires to review specific moving image data corresponding to the playback interval when moving image data is reproduced, so that the moving image data initiated from a start point of the bookmarked playback interval can be reproduced. The bookmark service apparatus and method for moving picture content includes registering a specific playback interval as a bookmarked playback interval in a moving image playback mode; and displaying a registered bookmark list by executing a bookmark menu in a standby mode, and reproducing data initiated from a start point of a playback interval of moving picture content selected from among the displayed bookmark list.
