  • Patent number: 7671909
Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for processing a Bayer pattern digital color video signal, where the video signal processing apparatus includes a BP detector that generates the pixel information signal PIS representing whether the current pixel is good or bad from the input video data based on the difference between the current pixel data and neighbor pixel data, and an interpolator that interpolates the bad pixel using neighbor pixel data in response to the pixel information signal.

  • Patent number: 7671910
Abstract: An interpolator and method for high image resolution by interpolation with adaptive filtering of Bayer pattern color signals, and a digital image signal processor implementing the same. The digital image signal processor can generate interpolation data close to actual pixel data by applying a nonlinear low pass filter (LPF) that reflects the change rate of the data centered around a center pixel and the data of the center pixel, and by simultaneously applying a LPF, a band pass filter (BPF), and a high pass filter (HPF) having linear characteristics, and can generate interpolation data that reduces aliasing (at “edges”) and emphasizes a high frequency component.

  • Patent number: 7577315
Abstract: For processing image data generated for a color filter array, classifiers are generated from the image data. A predetermined color component is determined by directional-interpolating the image data depending on the classifiers. Chrominance components are generated from linear-interpolated image data and the directional-interpolated predetermined color component. The chrominance components are directional-interpolated, and color components are extracted from the directional-interpolated chrominance components.

  • Patent number: 7538808
Abstract: In a method and system for luminance noise filtering, a region of pixel data directly from the image sensor is used for determining a virtually filtered luminance for a pixel location within the region. Luminance noise reduction is performed using the region of pixel data directly from the image sensor such that frame memory is eliminated. In addition, the present invention provides adaptive noise filtering by selecting the virtually filtered luminance as a final luminance for a darker image and by selecting a reference luminance without virtual noise filtering for a brighter image.

  • Patent number: 7415203
Abstract: For controlling exposure in a camera, first and second brightness levels of first and second areas of a captured image are determined. First and second weight values for the first and second brightness levels are determined with an increase of the first weight value for a higher difference between the first and second brightness levels. Exposure control data is generated from the first and second weight values and the first and second brightness levels.
