  • Publication number: 20110126068
Abstract: A method is described for transmitting signals in a mobile communication system which splits an information block into a plurality of split-information blocks and performs a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process upon each of the split-information blocks. A method is also described for reducing control information overhead by transmitting control information only through one control channel when splitting an information block and transmitting split-information blocks through a plurality of subframes or a plurality of resource blocks. The segmentation of the information block is performed in a physical layer to reduce medium access control (MAC) overhead and to simplify implementation.

  • Publication number: 20110032925
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more particularly, to a method of transmitting feedback, by which a signaling overhead can be efficiently reduced. In receiving a group feedback by a transmitting end in a wireless communication system, the present invention includes transmitting at least one data unit to a receiving end during a prescribed time interval and receiving a group feedback indicating a presence or non-presence of error for the overall at least one data unit from the receiving end. Accordingly, a transmitting/receiving end of a communication system transceives a group feedback for multiple feedbacks indicating an error presence or non-presence of overall data received in TTI, thereby reducing a signaling overhead.

  • Patent number: 7783962
Abstract: The present invention relates to an iterative decoding receiver for reducing complexity of a partial sphere decoding operation in a spatial multiplexing system, and a method thereof. In the present invention, an iterative detection and decoding (IDD) method using a cost function-based iterative partial sphere decoding method and a soft cancellation-based iterative partial sphere decoding method is used to correct an initial estimation error. In a channel encoding spatial multiplexing system, since the iterative decoding receiver using decoding algorithms including a BCJR algorithm, an MPA, and a VA performs an SISO sphere decoding operation providing an optimum detection solution, the iterative decoding receiver may detect transmission symbols at a whole dimension by detecting the transmission symbols at a partial dimension, and therefore the complexity of the SISO sphere decoding operation may be greatly reduced.
