In response to the request, the identification of the originating mobile station stored in the service control point and an announcement request signal are sent to an intelligent peripheral associated with the terminating mobile terminal, and the terminating mobile switching center is connected with the intelligent peripheral. The identification of the originating mobile station is thus audibly announced from said intelligent peripheral to the terminating mobile station.
