  • Patent number: 7383325
Abstract: A system and method for providing home appliance control data, wherein a Java phone allows a user to select desired control data to be transferred to a home appliance from among a plurality of control data, and a control data provision server downloads to the Java phone the control data selected by the user and a Java application for execution of the selected control data at the same time. The Java application and the control data are downloaded through a one-time operation based on the user's selection, thereby reducing the number of Internet accesses and an Internet access time for downloading of the control data to the home appliance. Therefore, the control data can be transferred to the home appliance within a shorter period of time, resulting in curtailment of a communication fee to be paid.

  • Patent number: 6922598
Abstract: A system and method for transferring home appliance control data, wherein a control data provision server stores a plurality of data for control of a home appliance and a unified Java application for execution of the plurality of control data. The control data provision server stores the same number of Java applications as that of a plurality of Java virtual machines contained respectively in a plurality of Java phones, resulting in no necessity for each Java phone to download respective Java applications whenever downloading respective control data. Therefore, the control data provision server can be reduced in capacity and burden thereon, and in turn in construction and maintenance costs.

  • Publication number: 20030043845
Abstract: A home appliance data transfer system and a method for controlling the same, wherein a Java phone is connected to a home appliance via their serial ports to transmit and receive data to/from the home appliance. Control data that a user desires to input to the home appliance can be transferred to the appliance under the condition that no IP address is set in the appliance. A Java application of the Java phone supports a transfer application which converts data according to a data transfer standard of the Java phone and home appliance. Therefore, the home appliance and Java phone can transmit and receive data without collision and the user can conveniently input data to the home appliance.
