Abstract: Provided are methods and apparatuses to display customized data. A browser agent of an Internet protocol television (IPTV) displays customized data. The browser agent includes a usage pattern monitor which monitors a user's usage pattern of the IPTV; and a user interest data analyzer which analyzes the usage pattern obtained by the usage pattern monitor to obtain information on what the user is interested in. Accordingly, the method of displaying customized data and the browser agent enable to automatically search and provide data in which a user is usually interested so that the user can view a huge amount of data more promptly and conveniently.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sharing digital content and a system for sharing digital content are provided. A multimedia device, such as an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), as the apparatus for sharing digital content, includes a decoder for decoding digital content data; a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) for encoding the digital content data decoded by the decoder to have a data format which a remote device supports; and a network interface for transmitting the digital content data re-encoded by the DSP to the remote device. In the present invention, once a user subscribes for a content providing service for the IPTV, the user is able to watch digital content of the IPTV in a remote place by using the mobile phone, or the like without separately subscribing for a service for the mobile phone.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a content hook-up apparatus and method. In particular, the present invention relates to a content hook-up apparatus that searches and downloads various formats of content corresponding to a search list input from a user, performs format conversion on the downloaded content so as to be playable on a predetermined display apparatus, and provides the content subjected to the format conversion to the display apparatus, which can play the content in a streaming manner. The content hook-up apparatus searches and downloads the content at a predetermined interval according to the user's setting and maintains a reserve space for storing the downloaded content.
