  • Patent number: 7892685
Abstract: A multi-unit fuel cell system that includes a common-use reforming unit configured to supply hydrogen to multiple fuel cell units that are installed in multiple units, such as apartments within an apartment building. In one example embodiment, a fuel cell system including a common-use reforming unit and multiple fuel cell units is disclosed. The common-use reforming unit is configured to supply hydrogen to the plurality of fuel cell units. Each fuel cell unit includes a stack unit, an air supplying unit, an integral heat exchange unit, a hot-water supplying unit, an auxiliary heat supplying unit, and an electric output unit.

  • Publication number: 20070072028
Abstract: A fuel cell system comprises: a stack unit having a cathode and an anode and generating electricity by an electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen; a fuel supply unit for supplying hydrogen to the anode of the stack unit; an air supply unit for supplying air to the cathode of the stack unit; and a gas-liquid separator having a cooling device for contacting off-gas supplied to the fuel supply unit from the stack unit and thereby condensing moisture included in the off-gas. In the fuel cell system, moisture included in the off-gas is removed by the gas-liquid separator and thus combustion inside the burner is actively performed. As the result, steam is stably supplied to a steam reformer and thus a reforming reaction is smoothly performed, thereby enhancing an entire function of the fuel cell system.

  • Publication number: 20070042248
Abstract: An extinguishing system for a fuel cell comprises: a stack unit for generating an electrical energy and a heat energy; a temperature sensing unit installed at the stack unit; an extinguishing unit operated according to a value sensed by the temperature sensing unit; and a control unit electrically connected to the temperature sensing unit and the extinguishing unit. Even if the system is overheated, or a fire takes place, this is sensed and the water filled in the water storage tank is automatically, thereby preventing overheating of the fuel cell. Even in case of fire, the fire is rapidly extinguished at an early stage, thereby ensuring the stability of the system and preventing the risk of a fire in a building caused by the fuel cell.
