Abstract: In a method of controlling a smart television (TV), one or more portable electronic device are authenticated to control the smart TV. When more than one authenticated portable electronic devices send a power-on signal to the smart TV, a normal mode is executed. When only one authenticated portable electronic device sends a power-on signal to the smart TV, a personal mode can be executed. The personal mode comprises a favorite program list, which records names of one or more programs, and a favorite channel list, which records one or more channels and times of broadcasting programs of the channels. Then, the smart TV is controlled according to commands sent by the one or more authenticated portable electronic devices.

Abstract: In a method for changing TV channels of a television using a remote control device, the method locates a location of the remote control device, obtains channels of TV stations from a database according to a relation between the location of the remote control device and the channels of the TV stations. The method displays the channels of the TV stations on a display screen of the remote control device, selects a channel from the channels of TV stations displayed on the display screen, and sends a control signal to control the television to change to a channel according to the selected channel.

Abstract: In a method for switching desktops of an electronic device, a plurality of desktop application groups and desktops are preset to corresponding preset position ranges. A current position of the electronic device is determined according to acquired position information from a global position system. When the electronic device is located in one of the preset position ranges, the method determines a position range that the current position is in, and determines a desktop application group and a desktop correspondingly. When the determined desktop is different from a current desktop of the electronic device, the method switches the current desktop to the determined desktop, and displays icons of the determined desktop application group on the determined desktop of the electronic device.

Abstract: A file reader identifies a drawing part, a text part of a file, and figures contained in the drawing part, figure labels, and component labels of the figures using optical character recognition. The file reader further identifies brief descriptions of the figures, the component labels, component names from the text part, and the figure labels from the brief descriptions. In addition, the file reader displays miniatures of the figures in a first area of a user interface, displays a figure corresponding to a selected miniature in a second area of the user interface, displays control buttons in a third area of the user interface, and displays the brief descriptions of the figures in a fourth area of the user interface.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing ?-aminobutyric acid by fermenting a rice medium from the preparation of a Cordyceps species and the application thereof. Firstly, water and an appropriate amount of rice medium are mixed together to form a fermentation broth. Secondly, add lactic acid bacteria to the fermentation broth. Then, the fermentation broth is fermented by both of the Cordyceps species retained in the rice medium and the lactic acid bacteria. Consequently, the ?-aminobutyric acid is produced. Moreover, the fermentation broth prepared by this method can be applied to a health food or drink.
