  • Publication number: 20070032561
Abstract: A manufacturing method of modified hydrophilic Polyurethane memory foam and products thereof are disclosed. The starting material of the foam includes hydrophilic PU prepolymer, acrylic emulsion polymer and second polyether polyol. The hydrophilic PU prepolymer consists of a first polyether polyol and isocyanate. The molecular weight of the first polyether polyol ranges from 600 to 2000 and the first polyether polyol contains at least 40 mole % of -EO— where the content of the -EO— ranges from 20 to 99.9 wt %. The foaming agent is carbon dioxide produced by the reaction of isocyanate and the water. After foaming process, there is a heating step for dehydration. The foam has specific high hydrophilic polymer structure with features of shock absorbing, uniform pressure relief, moisture absorbency and heat absorbing so as to provide users dry and cool feelings. It wouldn't become rigid below 10 degrees Celsius.

  • Patent number: 5047494
Abstract: A castable polyurethane elastomer comprising the polymerization reaction product of a polyurethane prepolymer and 2,3-bis(hydroxymethyl) bicyclo [2,2,1] heptane as a chain extender. The elastomer has an advantageously low rebound property, which makes it particularly useful in shock absorber and anti-vibration mounting applications.

  • Patent number: 4952660
Abstract: Tough, moldable copolymers can be made from a reaction system which comprises polymer precursor compounds which form a polymer containing urea and amide linkages and an unsaturated monomer which forms an additional polymer, together with an interpolymer crosslinker which crosslinks the polymer to the addition polymer.

  • Patent number: 4567035
Abstract: A low molecular weight hair spray resin containing a vinyl monomer having a ##STR1## electron withdrawing group and consisting essentially of alternating units of vinyl ester and an alkyl half ester maleate derived from an alternating vinyl ester/maleic anhydride copolymer. The resins of this invention are defined by the structure: ##STR2## wherein R and R.sub.1 are each independently alkyl having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms and n has a value between about 40 and 250, preferably 60 to 220.

  • Patent number: 4549007
Abstract: A chain extending agent for reaction injection molding (RIM) comprising a normally liquid blend of butanediol and a toluene diamine mono-substituted with an electron withdrawing group and having the formula ##STR1## wherein X is vicinal to an amino radical and is selected from the group of halogen, CN, NO.sub.2, acyl, carboxylate and isomeric mixtures thereof, and wherein the butanediol and diamine are combined in a critical mole ratio of from 4:1 to about 19:1. The above blend is particularly useful in the preparation of large moldings of polyurethane-polyurea elastomer by the RIM or RRIM (reinforced reaction injection molding) process wherein instant preformed blend is added to a mixture of polyol reactant and catalyst before polymerization in the mold with isocyanate to produce a urethane/urea polymer product of improved properties.

  • Patent number: 4448905
Abstract: This invention relates to the reaction products of butyrolactone and an aliphatic amine utilizable as a chain extender and curing agent for castable polyurethanes and to the process employing said products in preparing castable polyurethane elastomers and to the process for preparing the butyrolactone amine adducts. The aliphatic amine reactants employed in preparing the butyrolactoneamine adducts are defined by the formula: ##STR1## wherein X is amino (--NH.sub.2) or hydroxy (--OH); R is hydrogen (--H) or methyl (--CH.sub.3) and n has a value of 1 to 2, which amines are reacted with butyrolactone in a mole ratio of between about 1:1 and about 1:3 to provide a curing agent having superior mechanical properties and having the formula: ##STR2## wherein R is hydrogen or methyl, R' is a hydroxy group or ##STR3## and n has a value of 1 or 2.
