  • Patent number: 9955740
Abstract: An emergency anti-hypothermia system has a thermally insulating vest that is sufficiently portable to be carried for emergency use in a pocket, purse, backpack, compartment of a vehicle, ski pole or other location, with the vest providing thermal insulation by being made with thermally insulating air impervious material that also provides for its inflation. A multiplicity of interconnected inflated chambers situated about the vest, provides thermal insulation by anti-conduction, anti-radiation and anti-convection in a highly portable system. An outer surface having radar reflective properties further improves visibility of the vest.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 28, 2015
Date of Patent: May 1, 2018

  • Patent number: 8781684
Abstract: A three-wheeled vehicle that includes: a single front wheel; two rear wheels; a passenger cabin; an electronic steering control unit; and a steering input device configured to send an electronic signal to the electronic steering control unit corresponding to an input received at the steering input device associated with turning the three-wheeled vehicle; wherein the electronic steering control unit is configured to counter-steer the front wheel in response to receiving the electronic signal, wherein the counter-steering of the front wheel initiates a leaning of the passenger cabin a direction of turning of the three-wheeled vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8359665
Abstract: An emergency anti-hypothermia system has a thermally insulating vest that is sufficiently portable to be carried for emergency use in a pocket, purse, backpack, compartment of a vehicle, ski pole or other location. The vest provides thermal insulation by being made with thermally insulating air impervious material that also provides for its inflation. The inflating air also provides insulation as, preferably, does thermal radiation reflective material on inwardly facing surfaces of the vest, preferably inwardly facing surfaces of outer layers of inflated chambers about the vest, the multiplicity of the chambers about the vest reducing convection heat transfer therewithin. The vest thus preferably provides thermal insulation by anti-conduction, anti-radiation and anti-convection in a highly portable system.

  • Patent number: 6215593
Abstract: An optical system converts a planar image display to a spherical image display focused for close proximity to a human eye, in order to provide a wide viewing field. The optical system includes an array of image source pixels provided by a flat panel display, such as a high resolution liquid crystal display. The image source pixels are received by an array of optical fibers which transfer light from the image source pixels to an image plane section where the optical fibers terminate in a curved surface configuration. The curved surface image projection emanating from the array of optical fibers is received by an array of micro-lenses. Each of the micro-lenses is configured to focus a portion of the light from the curved image plane section onto an eye for viewing the image.
