Publication number: 20200039444Abstract: An instrument panel has an aperture in which a display may be arranged. The instrument panel further comprises a rotatable display mechanism. The mechanism comprising at least three display surfaces supported on a rotatable support. A first display surface comprises a touch sensitive display screen; a second display surface comprises at least one dial or gauge; and a third display surface comprises a trim element. The support is mounted for rotation with respect to a mount and the mount is movable away from and towards the aperture in the instrument panel. In use each display surface may be arranged in the aperture. To change from one display surface to another display surface, the mount is moved away from the instrument panel, the support is rotated and the mount is then moved back towards the instrument panel so as to align another display surface in the aperture.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2017Publication date: February 6, 2020Inventors: David Alan Rook, Jeff Brindle, Ian Armstrong, Richard Stevens, Darren Day

Publication number: 20180297636Abstract: A three-wheeled tilting vehicle is disclosed. The vehicle can include an electronic control system that controls the tilting of the vehicle in higher speed turns for increased stability. The vehicle may also include a traction control system to provide additional stability during higher speed turns.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 15, 2017Publication date: October 18, 2018Inventors: Helen Lee, Stephen R. Duffy, Timothy F. McLellan, Ian Armstrong Bruce

Patent number: 9766109Abstract: A capacitive liquid level sensor is provided comprising a capacitive probe having a capacitance and comprising a sensing tip wherein the capacitive probe is configured such that the capacitance of the probe changes when the sensing tip is exposed to liquid. A signal generator operates to supply an electrical signal alternating between a high and low state to the capacitive probe, the electrical signal being configured such that the probe is alternately charged and discharged when the signal is high or low respectively. A comparator operates to detect the magnitude of an electrical signal across the capacitive probe and provides a first output signal value when the detected signal magnitude is greater than a predetermined threshold value and a second output signal value when the signal magnitude is less than the threshold value.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2011Date of Patent: September 19, 2017Assignee: RANDOX LABORATORIES LTD.Inventors: Ian Armstrong, Michael Duffy, Stephen Peter Fitzgerald

Publication number: 20050129762Abstract: This invention relates to novel extended release pharmaceutical dosage forms for orally delivering drugs to mammals, e.g., humans. More particularly, this invention concerns novel dosage forms of water soluble drugs such as venlafaxine, enantiomeric (R or S) forms of venlafaxine, metabolites of venlafaxine such as O-desmethyl venlafaxine (ODV) or enantiomeric (R or S) forms of said metabolites which dosage forms have an extended release profile when taken orally. This invention also provides processes for preparing such dosage forms and methods of using them.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2004Publication date: June 16, 2005Applicant: WyethInventors: Nicholas Heaton, Angela Potts, Ian Armstrong, James Provost

Publication number: 20030204823Abstract: A method of optimising a design of a component is described. The method comprises the steps of: representing a base design as a CAD model comprising a plurality of geometric entities, assigning a tag name to each geometric entity, transferring the design into an analysis code and determining an optimum design from the analysis code.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 7, 2003Publication date: October 30, 2003Applicant: ROLLS-ROYCE plc.Inventors: Ian Armstrong, Janet Rees, Wenbin Song
