  • Publication number: 20060263503
Abstract: High amylose flour may be processed by a short hydrothermal treatment to increase its total dietary fiber (TDF) content. These flours may be prepared by heating a high amylose flour at a total water content of from about 10 to 50% by weight at a temperature of from about 80 to 160° C., for about 0.5 to 15 minutes at target temperature. This invention further relates to products which contain the high TDF flour, including food products.

  • Publication number: 20060175903
Abstract: A socket assembly enables a number of electrical appliances to be automatically isolated from, and reconnected to, an electrical power supply upon respectively switching off or on a “master” appliance. Generally, the assembly includes: a master electrical outlet and at least one slave electrical outlet, both connectable to a common power source; sensing means for sensing power drawn from the master electrical outlet; a controller operable to isolate the at least one slave electrical outlet from the power source when the sensing means detects a fall in power drawn from the master electrical outlet from a first, higher level to a second, lower level.

  • Publication number: 20050169764
Abstract: A turbocharger has a shaft formed of a strong material such as steel and an impeller formed of a relatively weaker material such as aluminum alloy. The impeller is mounted on the shaft by means of an internally-threaded insert, for example also of steel, interference fitted into the impeller hub. To prevent loss of the interference fit between the insert and impeller during thermal and speed excursions of the impeller during operation of the turbocharger, a constraining ring is fitted to the hub of the impeller. The ring is of a material having a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than the material of the impeller and surrounds at least a part of that axial length of the impeller which overlies the insert.

  • Publication number: 20050069561
Abstract: A vaccine against Newcastle Disease contains one or more mutant immunogens of the NDW strain. The mutant immunogen lacks the antigenic binding site on the F glycoprotein which is recognized by the monoclonal antibody mAb 54. Reagent kits and assay methods help to distinguish vaccinated members of a poultry flock from those that may have been infected with wild-type Newcastle Disease virus.

  • Patent number: 6171143
Abstract: Connectors for connecting multiple coaxial cables are typically complex with many parts and difficult to assemble. The present invention provides an improved multiple coaxial cable connector and a method of using the same. The preferred connector comprises a socket connector adapted to receive a plurality of coaxial cables each terminated in a termination socket and to expose at least a part of each socket when fitted, a connection element, and a casing component adapted to receive the coaxial cables and including at least partial metallisation to a face plate. The connection element bonds each termination socket to the casing component face plate and when connected, to a receiving element for the cable connector. Preferably the socket connector is an SCI connector and the termination sockets are SCI sockets. The connection element preferably includes spring fingers corresponding to each termination socket.
