  • Patent number: 11970308
Abstract: A container (10) and a method facilitating measuring a member, for example measuring the length or perimeter of a user's lower leg e.g. the calf and/or ankle. The method comprises aligning and locating a first datum (24) of the container (10) against a second datum on the member followed by rolling the container's perimeter relative to a section of the member to be measured. Measurement is complete when the container (10) has rolled from the first datum (24) along the minor surfaces until a point of the container (10) reaches an extremity of the member/dimension being measured; the extremity may be the second datum, where a circumference of a member is being measured. When rolling the perimeter of the container (10) is complete a point of the container face (12) will be aligned with a point representing the extremity of the dimension being measured or the second datum. Alignment of two points at the extremity of the measured member is indicative of the dimension of the member.

  • Publication number: 20230305070
Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent battery management system and method, and in particular to a battery management system utilising a method for the estimation of electrode potentials. The intelligent battery management system and method may be used in a battery control system, such as a battery charging/discharging system to preserve the health of a connected battery over multiple cycles, or in a battery diagnostic system for predicting or modelling battery performance. The battery management method uses an estimation of battery and electrode open-circuit potentials for a reference battery, combined with the battery overpotential fractions attributable to the negative and/or positive electrodes of the reference battery, to estimate the instantaneous electrode potentials for the connected battery.

  • Patent number: 11669656
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to move the solving of multi-physics engineering simulations away from specific CAE, or combination CAD and CAE, applications. In one embodiment, an Application Programming Interface (API) is provided that can be integrated into any device, system, application, or software workflow. The API exposes a series of functions or modules that a user can use to create a simulation file that includes parameters such as a model for the simulation, physics for the simulation, timings for the simulation, and other parameters. The simulation file may then be executed on one or more nodes of a cloud-based computer cluster, and the results of executing the simulation can be provided back to the user. The user may then visualize the results using their preferred device, software, application, or workflow.

  • Patent number: 11618972
Abstract: Injector (14) for injecting a liquid formulation into a molten polymer includes outlet (21) at one end and, at its other end, is arranged to be connected to upstream conduit (25) via a coupling housing (26) so that liquid formulation can pass from conduit into the injector, and further includes an elongate conduit (27) in which an elongate pin is slideably arranged being capable of expelling all liquid formulation from conduit. To address the risk the outlet could become blocked in use, whilst avoiding the need to depressurize and/or stop the flow or polymer in extruder (19), the injection apparatus includes a spool (34) which is rotatably mounted within wall (35) of the extruder and is arranged to be rotated about an axis which extends substantially perpendicularly to the elongate extent of the extruder through which a polymer stream (18) flows.

  • Patent number: 11491392
Abstract: A handheld controller may include a movable control that is usable for activating and deactivating a motion control feature of the handheld controller based on a detection of, or a failure to detect, a finger contacting a surface of the movable control. For example, a touch sensor associated with the movable control may provide touch sensor data indicative of a proximity of a finger relative to the movable control, and based on this touch sensor data, the motion control feature of the handheld controller can be toggled on and off, depending on whether the finger is contacting the movable control or not. When the motion control feature is activated, motion sensor data from a motion sensor(s) is sent to an application (e.g., a video game) as application input. When the motion control feature is deactivated, the motion sensor data is not used as application input.
