  • Patent number: 9436752
Abstract: Application-level replication, the synchronization of data updates within a cluster of application servers, may be provided by having application servers themselves synchronize all updates to multiple redundant databases, precluding the need for database-level replication. This may be accomplished by first sending a set of database modifications requested by the transaction to a first database. Then a message may be placed in one or more message queues, the message indicating the objects inserted, updated, or deleted in the transaction. Then a commit command may be sent to the first database. The set of database modifications and a commit command may then be sent to a second database. This allows for transparent synchronization of the databases and quick recovery from a database failure, while imposing little performance or network overhead.

  • Patent number: 9353748
Abstract: The present invention relates to a scroll pump (10) comprising two scrolls (20, 22) which are co-operable for pumping fluid from an inlet (24) to an outlet (26) on relative orbiting motion of the scrolls. Each scroll comprises a scroll base (30, 36) from which a spiral scroll wall (28, 34) extends generally axially towards the base of the opposing scroll. The pump comprises a tip seal arrangement comprising an axial end portion of one or both of the scroll walls which locates a tip seal (508) for resisting the passage of pumped fluid across the or both scroll walls between the or both scroll walls and the scroll base of the opposing scroll. The tip seal arrangement limits axial movement of the tip seal towards the scroll base of the opposing scroll along a first spiral region (507) of the or both scrolls between the inlet and the outlet.

  • Publication number: 20160125341
Abstract: A system for presenting graphic depictions of a workflow in a workplace gathers information to help it automatically identify the workflow. The system presents surveys to human resources and receives responses to develop various segments of the workflow. The system resolves any gaps by using the received responses to identify additional human resources who should receive surveys. It then presents surveys to the additional human resources, receives additional responses, and uses the additional responses to complete the workflow.

  • Patent number: 9297384
Abstract: The present invention relates to a scroll pump with two scrolls that are co-operable for pumping fluid from an inlet to an outlet on relative orbiting motion of the scrolls. Each scroll comprises a scroll base from which a scroll wall extends generally axially towards the base of the opposing scroll. A gas conduit having an inlet at a first location of the pumping channel and an outlet at a second location of the pumping channel allows over-compression at the first location of the pumping channel to be exhausted to the second location of the pumping channel. A one-way valve located in the gas conduit allows the passage of gas through the conduit from the conduit inlet to the conduit outlet when a predetermined pressure differential between the first and second locations of the pumping channel is generated during roughing when the scroll inlet is at or close to atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 9299419
Abstract: Systems and methods for optimizing a memory rail voltage are disclosed. The system may comprise a plurality of sensor cells, each sensor cell comprising at least one bitcell replica having a predefined data retention voltage higher than a data retention voltage of a similar memory bit cell. The sensor cells may be configured to provide an output based on a sensor rail voltage higher than the predefined data retention voltage. The system may further comprise a controller operably coupled to a power management circuit and configured to adjust the memory rail and the sensor rail voltages. The controller may be further configured to compare an expected value to the sensor indication. The controller may decrease the sensor rail voltage and the memory rail voltage based on the indication until a sensor indicates a bitcell replica has failed, indicating an optimum memory rail voltage has been reached.

  • Publication number: 20160061191
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a drivetrain assembly for a wind turbine. The drivetrain assembly includes a gearbox having a ring gear, an annular torque support, and at least one flexible component configured therebetween. More specifically, the ring gear includes opposing inner and outer circumferential surfaces separated by side circumferential edges. The side circumferential edges include a rotor-side edge and a generator-side edge. The rotor-side edge has a first set of circumferentially-spaced teeth. The torque support has a generator-side surface having a second set of circumferentially-spaced teeth. Thus, the first set of teeth of the ring gear are configured to engage the second set of teeth of the torque support so as to couple the ring gear to the torque support. In addition, the flexible component is configured between the first and second sets of teeth so as to control vibrations in the wind turbine, e.g. transmission of gearbox-generated vibrations.
