Abstract: A method, system and article of manufacture for simulating latency between software applications. There is provided a middleware component, e.g., a delay driver, within a multi-tier software product, the middleware component driver enables simulation of both latency and bandwidth restrictions experienced by the components in the multi-tier software product. The middleware component determines whether I/O request packets should be delayed, selects the number and types of I/O requests packets to be delayed and the amount of time to delay processing of the packets. Through the use of such a middleware component, a user is able to simulate various conditions experienced by the multi-tier software product.

Abstract: A method in one embodiment includes: executing a program; performing testing on the program; logging every input to the program during the testing; logging every result during testing of the program; storing the logged results; and allowing a user to search the logged results. If a failure occurs during the testing: performing a comparison between a successful testing of the program and the failed testing of the program; rerunning the successful testing and the failed testing in parallel; analyzing the logged results for determining occurrence of events during testing of the program; generating a timeline of the events; and outputting the timeline of the events.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for concurrency testing within a model-based testing environment is provided. One implementation involves concurrency testing within a model-based software system testing environment, by receiving concurrent test service requests; duplicating a model representing software under test, based on the number of requests; sending the concurrent requests to each of the duplicated models sequentially but in different orders; storing the outcomes of each of the models; comparing the outcomes from the models to the outcome from the software system under test; and if all comparisons fail, then indicating test failure.
