    Abstract: A step type exerciser (FIG. 3) comprises an endless loop of steps in which each step has an associated pair of pulleys, one (14) at each end, and these run on fixed "inside out" Vee belts (10). This provides a particularly inexpensive guide means which is quiet in running. Drive is transmitted by toothed pinion blocks (18, 22) carried adjacent to each roller but angularly fixed whereas the rollers are rotatable, and the blocks engage a second belt (40) which is driven by a motor (26).
