  • Patent number: 7152108
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing security using an authorization process in connection with data transfers. Keyed certificates are used to authenticate remote computers. An authorization table maps remote computers to allowable local users and corresponding qualifiers. In order to complete a data transfer process, the system of the present invention authenticates the remote computer, determines its authority to act as a designated local user, and determines whether the remote computer, acting as the designated local user, can perform the actions required for the data transfer.

  • Publication number: 20020061506
Abstract: Systems and methods for delivering a training course whose content is independent of the delivery technology and whose content is deliverable in future delivery technologies without significantly rewriting or recoding the training course. For a training course, an XML version of the content of the training course is generated. The XML version of the content can be accessed through a content module which provides an interface to a viewer that corresponds to a selected delivery technology. The same content can be provided through different delivery technologies by using the appropriate viewer. This preserves the viability and life of the content because it is easily adapted to different delivery technologies. A graphic treatment for the content is also independent and separately changeable. Also, a instruction strategy for determining how to present the content is provided.

  • Patent number: 6197348
Abstract: The present invention relates to a taste-masked pharmaceutical composition. In particular the invention relates to suspensions of microcapsules taste-masked as a function of a polymer coating and the pH of a suspending medium. Surprisingly, a polymer considered permeable maintains taste masking in this media whereas a polymer considered impervious by the industry does not. There is provided a taste masked oral pharmaceutical composition including: a pharmaceutically active ingredient having a pH-dependent solubility; a polymer encapsulating said pharmaceutically active ingredient, said polymer having a quaternary ammonium functionality; a suspending medium for suspending the encapsulated pharmaceutically active ingredient, said medium adjusted to a predetermined pH at which the pharmaceutically active ingredient remains substantially insoluble; and wherein the pharmaceutically active ingredient is taste masked by the combination of the polymer and suspending medium.
