  • Publication number: 20250137875
Abstract: A rake assembly for measuring fluid flow parameters in a fluid flow rig, comprises: a rake assembly support frame; a housing mounted on the rake assembly support frame; the housing comprising a wall which defines a flow passage, with a flow inlet and a flow outlet, the flow passage extending from the flow inlet to the flow outlet. The housing is cylindrical and is centred on a longitudinal axis. An instrumentation arm extends from a leading edge end to a trailing edge end, and the instrumentation arm extends from the housing wall to extend at least part of the way across the flow passage, the leading edge end located in an Aerodynamic Instrument Plane (AIP); the housing being rotatably mounted to the rake assembly support frame; such that the housing and instrumentation arm are operable to rotate at least part of the way around the longitudinal axis.

  • Publication number: 20100208070
Abstract: A method and apparatus (10) for collecting information relating to a driver of a motor vehicle using portable computing apparatus (12), cameras (13) for capturing an image or images relating to operation of the vehicle by the driver and a location sensor (14) for providing information relating to location of the vehicle. The computing apparatus is capable of recording information from an observer relating to operation of the vehicle by the driver to enable the driver to be assessed. The method and apparatus may be applied to capturing information relating to any observable scene. Information collected as above may be used for a training or an information program for drivers or users of vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20050001465
Abstract: A tuned vibration absorbing system (12) for a seat system (10) includes a flexible extension member (32) that is coupled to the seat system (10). A suspended element (34) is coupled to the flexible extension member (32). The flexible extension member (32) and the suspended element (34) are configured to absorb vibration within the seat system (10). A method of designing and manufacturing a seat system (10) includes designing the tuned vibration absorbing system (12) with the flexible extension member (32) and the suspended element (34) to absorb vibration within the seat system (10), which is then manufactured and coupled to the seat system (10).

  • Publication number: 20040014571
Abstract: An exercise apparatus comprises an oblong platform and at least one detachable convex instability member projecting from the lower surface of the platform. The platform is of sufficient length for a person to perform whole body exercises, e.g. in a prone, supine or semi-supine position, on the platform. The person exercising on the platform faces the challenge of attempting to maintain the platform in a horizontal orientation as it rocks or wobbles during the exercise, thus improving the balancing skills of the user. The apparatus may be provided in kit form with a plurality of interchangeable detachable convex instability members of different forms, shapes and sizes to provide different balancing challenges of varying degrees of difficulty. The apparatus or kit may also include one or more exercise aids or attachments, e.g. bars and exercise balls mountable on the upper surface of the platform.

  • Patent number: 6056366
Abstract: A vehicle set back frame that is lightweight and sufficiently rigid to be incorporated in an all-belts-to-seat seat belt mechanism. A seat back shaped back frame is C-shaped in cross-section and wrapped with a load-transfer panel and a lumbar panel to form a box frame which houses seat belt retractors and resists back frame deformation due to frontal impact of the vehicle. A method of distributing seat belt loads is also disclosed.
