  • Patent number: 5931012
Abstract: A road side airconditioning and/or heating facility in, or adjacent, a parking bay for a vehicle, including and supporting, in use, an airconditioning unit and/or heating unit, or reverse cycle unit (11), relative to the vehicle and for temporary association with the vehicle, and having a flexible supply duct (14a) and a flexible return duct (14b), and having means (15) to, in use, associate the ducts with the interior of the cabin of the vehicle, whereby conditioned and/or heated air may be supplied to the cabin of the vehicle. The unit (11) is supported on a pillar (19) via a pulley arrangement (22) to allow the unit to be raised and lowered relative to the vehicle, and an arm arrangement (20) pivotable in a horizontal plane to allow lateral adjustment of the unit into and out of the parking bay.

  • Patent number: 5849838
Abstract: Aqueous oil-in-water emulsion scratch cover compositions for covering scratches, blemishes and other damage to finished wooden articles such as furniture, wooden trim and wooden floors with characteristics comparable to volatile organic solvent-based scratch cover compositions are described which are substantially free of added volatile organic solvents and conventional surfactants. These emulsion compositions comprise 2-10% of an animal, vegetable or mineral oil that is a liquid and substantially nonvolatile at 25.degree. C., 0.0001-1% of at least one organic solvent soluble dye that is soluble in the oil and is substantially water insoluble, an effective amount, preferably 0.01-5%, of a polymeric electrostatic emulsifier such as an acrylates/C.sub.10 -C.sub.30 alkyl acrylate cross polymer that takes the place of conventional surfactants with the balance comprising water, and optionally, non-ionic waxes, nonionic nonvolatile silicone fluids, pigments or no more than about 1% of nonionic surfactants.

  • Patent number: 5799861
Abstract: A case forming panel and case structures incorporating the case forming panel, the material of which being a laminate of internal and exterior liners on a flute providing medium of corrugated board having a flute pitch in depth greater than that of "A" flute, the flutes to extend in use substantially vertically, and preferably having a flute pitch of about 54 mm, a flute depth of about 27 mm, and a take up of about 1.54:1.

  • Patent number: 5665276
Abstract: The invention provides an improved process for the production of a pyrotechnic or explosive device containing encased hazardous solid material wherein the material is dispersed in an inert liquid, the dispersion is formed into droplets and the droplets are solidified in a cooling medium. The solidified droplets are loaded into a casing and freeze-dried in situ in the casing to produce dry particles of the hazardous material, which may optionally be pressed within the casing, advantageously under vacuum,Only the operations (if any) subsequent to the freeze-drying need special precautions to be taken to prevent damage to personnel or equipment. The invention is advantageous for the preparation of detonators, igniters and other devices containing hazardous materials for example lead azide, lead styphnate, pentaerythritol tetranitrate and boron/potassium nitrate mixtures.
