Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to limit an amount won by a player based on his or her performance in a game of skill. According to one embodiment, a net winning amount associated with the player is determined based on (i) an amount provided by the player in exchange for game play and (ii) an amount won by the player based on the player's performance in a game of skill. Based on the net winning amount, the player is prevented from winning at least one additional amount.
