  • Patent number: 5235925
Abstract: A retractable connecting beam for a trimaran that allows the stabilizing floats to be retracted in against the center hull for trailering or marina docking. The outer end of the connecting beam is pivotally secured to the top surface of the stabilizing float so that as the connecting beam is retracted, the stabilizing float will remain vertical as it is drawn into its retracted position adjacent the center hull of the trimaran. The inner end of the connecting beam is oriented generally upright thus avoiding restricting access along the center hull deck of the trimaran.

  • Patent number: 5038697
Abstract: An improved version of the Float Connection Assemblies as described in U.S. Pat. No. 3,937,166, for the retraction of a trimaran's stabilizing floats to be alongside the trimaran center hull for trailering or Marina docking. The improvement consists of a variable length Upper Pivoting Guide Frame, that when varied in length will allow a trimaran float being retracted by the Float Connection Assemblies to assume a different, higher and more favorable position, to prevent marine growth on the floats' sides, particularly the topsides above the normal waterline when retracted. This allows a trimaran incorporating this improved Float Connection Assembly to be easily converted from a trailerable configuration, to a more suitable Marina docking configuration, without the problem of underwater growth on the retracted float's side.

  • Patent number: 5031557
Abstract: A molded or pre-fabricated Central Core Unit module, containing the aligned attachment points, surfaces, or brackets necessary for incorporating the Float Connection Assemblies for the retraction of a trimaran's stabilizing floats, to be along side the center hull of a trimaran. The Float Connection Assemblies are attached to and aligned by this Central Core Unit. The Core Unit module replaces a number of brackets or surfaces and bulkheads that had to be independently constructed and aligned in the central hull. With the Central Core Unit module, the Float Connection Assemblies can be self-contained and independent from the trimaran hulls, which can then be constructed of any material. The Central Core Unit module and associated Float Connection Assemblies can be removable and used in a wide range of trimaran designs of similar size.
