    Abstract: An apparatus for protecting an optical device from contamination is disclosed. The apparatus includes a window disposed between the optical device and a contaminating environment, the window being rotatable about a rotational axis and including an outwardly facing surface that is curved in at least one direction about the rotational axis. The apparatus also includes a bezel enclosing a portion of the outwardly facing surface and defining a clear aperture for transmission of electromagnetic radiation to or from the optical device. The bezel includes a seal extending around a periphery of the clear aperture and is configured to cause the seal to conform to the outwardly facing surface when the window and bezel are urged into contact with each other. The apparatus also includes an actuator operable to cause relative rotation between the window and the bezel to cause the outwardly facing surface to move with respect to the bezel.

    Abstract: Location-based virtual queuing of vehicles is described. A request to join a virtual queue may be received from a user application. In response to receiving the request, the server may determine, using a geo-fencing feature, if the user computing device running the user application is within a first predetermined distance of a queue location, where the queue location is a destination of the requesting user vehicle. Then, in response to receiving confirmation that the requesting vehicle user is within the first predetermined distance, the server may automatically create and add a reservation message to a data structure that includes a plurality of reservation messages. Also, in response to the creating the reservation message, the server may provide the requesting user application a notification with the position within a queue managed by the data structure and an estimated wait time that is generated using information stored within the data structure.

The AR display can identify risks with helpful and easy-to-interpret graphics or other overlays. Potential risks can include proximity to other individuals in an environment, contact with high-touch surfaces (e.g., fomites), insufficient cleaning (e.g., insufficient handwashing techniques), and others. The apparatus also includes an actuator operable to move of at least one of the wiper and the optical surface to cause the wiper to traverse the optical surface such that the leading face dislodges contaminants entrained in the liquid film or adhered to the optical surface to produce a cleaned portion of the optical surface. The apparatus further includes a liquid applicator disposed behind the trailing face of the wiper and operable to dispense liquid for renewing the liquid film on the cleaned portion of the optical surface.
