  • Publication number: 20040165771
Abstract: Digital image processing apparatus for applying pixel-based colour correction to a hue-saturation-based polar representation of pixels of an input image to generate an output image comprises colour correction logic arranged to provide a colour mapping operation defined by a hue alteration amount and a key value associated with each pixel; the colour correction logic comprising: hue modifying logic for adding a proportion of the hue alteration amount to the hue of each pixel of the input image, the proportion depending on the key value associated with that pixel; and saturation modifying logic for modifying the saturation of each pixel in dependence on the hue alteration amount and the key value for that pixel, such that for a key value indicating that only a fraction of the hue alteration amount should be applied to a current pixel, the saturation of that pixel is also modified so that, when expressed with respect to a rectangular chrominance-based colour space, the pixel is moved to a position in that colour

  • Publication number: 20040118631
Abstract: An HQ tube arrangement suitable for packaging within a vehicle may be designed by creating a mathematical model representing a tube arrangement having a first passageway and a second passageway fluidly connected to the first passageway at first and second junctions. The second passageway is divided by the junctions into first, second, and third passages. Lengths may be associated with each of the first passageway and the first, second, and third passages to produce a particular length combination. A filter parameter, which may be passed upon an average transmission loss for a particular frequency over a standard deviation, is calculated for the particular length combination. Other lengths may be associated with the tube arrangement to calculate other filter parameters for the other length combinations.

  • Publication number: 20030112981
Abstract: A method of noise attenuation for a vehicle comprises generating a noise attenuating sound based on an assumption through speaker 18. (See FIG. 1). A test signal is generated comprising a frequency range of sounds desired to be attenuated for obtaining actual data. The test signal is received by microphone 26 and then filtered by filter 30. The assumption is then assessed based upon the filtered received test signal. The noise attenuating sound 32 is altered based on the assessment.

  • Patent number: 6570576
Abstract: An image processing apparatus processes input signal samples representative of at least part of a color video image to produce legal color signal samples. An over sampled version of the input signal samples is produced. A plurality of adjustment factors are generated which, when combined with the input signal samples, have the effect of converting illegal color pixels of the color image into legal color pixels. The over sampled legalized color signal samples are decimated, resulting in a sampling rate corresponding to that of the base input signal samples, by selecting signal samples from the over sampled version of the legalized color signal samples which have not changed with respect to the corresponding input signal samples.

  • Publication number: 20020122565
Abstract: An image processing apparatus is operable to embed data into an image. Images such as those generated from an inter-laced scan may comprise a frame of image data, the frame comprising first and second image fields. The image processing apparatus comprises a combining processor operable to introduce the data to be embedded into at least one of the first and second fields of the image frame. As such a likelihood of a perceivable effect of the embedded data on the image may be reduced, because the images are viewed as a frame. The embedded data may also have an increased likelihood of being detected because some processing may effect the image frame more then the fields of the image. The combining processor may be operable to represent the data to be embedded in a transform domain form, and, in combination with a transform processor, combine the data to be embedded with the first and/or second fields with the image in a transform domain form or a spatial domain form.

  • Patent number: 5904165
Abstract: This invention is directed to a multipurpose repair and maintenance apparatus for aerial inspection, repair and cleaning, comprising a work platform for installation on the skids of an helicopter and sustaining a boom assembly and a fluid circuit such that the loads on the work platform are fully balanced. The work platform is made of electrically conductive material and all electrically conductive parts of the apparatus are connected to the electrically conductive parts of the helicopter to have same electrical potential. The boom assembly extends from the port side of the work platform and has an inboard section and an outboard section. A pumping assembly is mounted on a power drive mount at the starboard side of the platform, so as to balance the weight of the boom assembly. A boom actuator is provided at the onboard end of the boom assembly and controls the vertical and horizontal movement of the outboard end.

  • Patent number: 5471783
Abstract: A tree guard for young trees, seedlings, sapling and other plants such as vines which can be laid flat for storage and rolled into a cylinder for placing around a tree. The guard may include tapes for holding by means of a stake and light and air admission holes. The guard may be of easily decomposable material or may be reusable.
