Abstract: A detachable test instrument remote controller 10 comprising a top part 2 comprising a housing including a switch or a plug 30 having switch means for connecting to a testing cable 42, a bottom part 1 configured to be fitted on a patch cable 20 and adapted to secure the top part 2 to the patch cable 20, and a testing cable 42 connected to the top part 2 and adapted to be communicatively coupled with a tester product 46, wherein once the bottom part 1 is fitted to the patch cable 20, the top part 2 is slid onto it and held in place such that the housing, when in use, covers at least part of the plug 30 not in the socket/or abuts the plug 30. The present invention also relates to a cable for a circuit tester comprising the detachable test instrument remote controller 10.

Abstract: A laser is disclosed which includes a gain medium, a switch element, and a pulse controller. In one embodiment laser light of differing polarizations pass along respective paths and a pulsed laser output is generated via an electro-optical element. In another embodiment light of differing polarizations passes in differing directions through a cyclical path. The invention can make use of a prism-shaped polarizer having a polarization selection face and two further faces. Yet further initial pulses can be controlled to reduce energy, for example by progressively increasing the period or amplitude of successive pulses. As a result an efficient and high power laser apparatus is realized.

Abstract: Creating and displaying an adaptive menu structure for media files. The invention includes authoring software to create the menu structure to enable a user to navigate the media files using a media player. The invention also includes filtering software to adapt the created menu structure to display menu information on a display associated with the media player as a function of a media type associated with the media player.
