  • Publication number: 20190344869
Abstract: An actuator for imparting steering movement to a tiller of a propulsion unit of a marine vessel comprises an absolute position sensor which senses a steering position and a relative position sensor which senses a position of the motor. A steering control unit calibrates the relative position sensor based on a signal of the absolute position sensor. Calibration of the relative position sensor based on a signal of the absolute positon sensor initializes an accumulative position which accumulates a relative position as the actuator moves over time.

  • Publication number: 20190340765
Abstract: A method for segmenting an image includes receiving one or more object seeds associated with one or more first object portions represented by a first image and receiving one or more background seeds associated with one or more first background portions represented by the first image. A second image representing one or more second object portions and one or more second background portions is received, wherein the first image comprises a plurality of subportions and the second image is a subportion of the plurality of subportions of the first image. The second image is processed based on the one or more object seeds and the one or more background seeds to determine the one or more second object portions and the one or more second background portions.

  • Publication number: 20190323841
Abstract: In one or more embodiments, one or more systems, methods and/or processes may determine a location of a remote object (e.g., a point and/or area of interest, landmark, structure that “looks interesting”, buoy, anchored boat, etc.). For example, the location of a remote object may be determined via a first bearing, at a first location, and a second bearing, at a second location, to the remote object. For instance, the first and second locations can be determined via a position device, such as a global positioning system device. In one or more embodiments, the location of the remote object may be based on the first location, the second location, the first bearing, and the second bearing. For example, the location of the remote object may be provided to a user via a map. For instance, turn-by-turn direction to the location of the remote object may be provided to the user.

  • Publication number: 20190296992
Abstract: The disclosed technology offers methods of updating a data cube of samples and a display on a client device with a processor. The method provides GUI clients to computer devices; receives initial reports of sample values organized by sampled computing device and sampled aspect of operations, and identified by group membership and super-group membership; receives, from the devices, samples that update reports of sampled aspects of operations; and pushes updated reports to the GUI clients. The GUI clients calculate and update group and super-group aggregate operational status; and display a hierarchical representation of the aggregate operational status of the super-groups and groups and of the operational status of the computing devices, based on the sample values, in real or near real time, as received samples reach the clients. The operator viewing the display of the hierarchical representation is notified of operational aspects that require close monitoring or immediate remedial attention.

  • Patent number: 10402203
Abstract: An apparatus comprises prediction circuitry (40, 100, 80) for determining, based on current prediction policy information (43, 82, 104), a predicted behavior to be used for processing instructions. The current prediction policy information is updated based on an outcome of processing of instructions. A storage structure (50) stores at least one entry identifying previous prediction policy information (60) for a corresponding block of instructions. In response to an instruction from a block having a corresponding entry in the storage structure (50) which identifies the previous prediction policy information (60), the current prediction policy information (43, 82, 104) can be reset based on the previous prediction policy information 60 identified in the corresponding entry of the storage structure (50).

  • Patent number: 10394716
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for controlling allocation of data into cache storage. The apparatus comprises processing circuitry for executing instructions, and a cache storage for storing data accessed when executing the instructions. Cache control circuitry is arranged, while a sensitive allocation condition is determined to exist, to be responsive to the processing circuitry speculatively executing a memory access instruction that identifies data to be allocated into the cache storage, to allocate the data into the cache storage and to set a conditional allocation flag in association with the data allocated into the cache storage. The cache control circuitry is then responsive to detecting an allocation resolution event, to determine based on the type of the allocation resolution event whether to clear the conditional allocation flag such that the data is thereafter treated as unconditionally allocated, or to cause invalidation of the data in the cache storage.

  • Patent number: 10359395
Abstract: Methods for nanopore-based protein analysis are provided. The methods address the characterization of a target protein analyte, which has a dimension greater than an internal diameter of the nanopore tunnel, and which is also physically associated with a polymer. The methods further comprise applying an electrical potential to the nanopore system to cause the polymer to interact with the nanopore tunnel. The ion current through the nanopore is measured to provide a current pattern reflective of the structure of the portion of the polymer interacting with the nanopore tunnel. This is used as a metric for characterizing the associated protein that does not pass through the nanopore.
