    Abstract: A lighting device may be configured to be installed within a building structure. The lighting device may include a lighting device assembly that includes a light-generation module having an emitter assembly configured to emit light and a wireless communication circuit configured to communicate wireless signals. The lighting device may include a housing configured to be installed within the building structure. The housing may include a lower plate and/or a trim portion that defines an aperture configured to enable the light emitted by the emitter assembly to be transmitted out of the housing. The housing may include a radio-frequency-transparent (RF-transparent) portion having a perimeter that is defined by the opening in the lower plate and surrounds the trim portion. The RF transparent portion may be configured to enable the wireless signals to be communicated by the light generation module through the lower plate of the housing.
