  • Patent number: 8806693
Abstract: An oral care implement or toothbrush 100 includes a head 104, a tooth cleaning element region 116 and a tissue cleaning element region 114. The tissue cleaning element region 114 includes a plurality of flexible, angled projections 120. The projections 120 are configured to flex from an at-rest position to a substantially flat position when the tissue cleaning element region 114 is in contact with the tongue and is pushed into the mouth. The projections 120 are also configured to flex to a substantially upright position when the tissue cleaning element region 114 is in contact with the tongue and is pulled out of the mouth. This arrangement aids in preventing debris from being pushed into the mouth and in removing debris from the mouth and tongue. The flexible projections 120 may be used in conjunction with rigid projections 122 having a generally vertical configuration to aid in removing debris from the mouth and in engaging the cheek to improve saliva production during brushing.

  • Patent number: 7798477
Abstract: A hydraulically damped mounting device has a first anchor part; a second anchor part being a hollow sleeve containing the first anchor part, with the first anchor part extending axially of the sleeve; first and second resilient walls interconnecting the first and second anchor parts, two walls being spaced apart to define an enclosed space within the sleeve extending circumferentially around the first anchor part and axially bounded by the resilient walls. First and second deformable walls extend axially between the resilient walls at circumferentially spaced locations, so as to divide the enclosed space into first and second chambers for hydraulic fluid. A passageway interconnects the first and second chambers. The deformable walls have a flap, the movement of which is controlled by support devices so that the flap deforms to allow fluid to pass between the chambers only at or above a predetermined fluid pressure.

  • Patent number: 7370852
Abstract: A bush assembly is seated in a housing, having an outer sleeve (10), an inner tube (12) and a resilient body (14) connecting the inner tube (12) and the outer sleeve (10). The outer sleeve (10) has projections (20) from its outer surface that abut the inner surface of the housing (40) and cause local deformations on the sleeve around the projections (20). The local deformations around the projections (20) cause the radial gap (16) between the inner tube (12) and the outer sleeve (10) to change circumferentially and thus bush has different radial stiffness in different directions.

  • Patent number: 6611142
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the magnetic field distribution of a magnetic sample includes a magnetic field sensor arrangement having three, orthogonally-disposed, Hall sensors for sensing the magnetic field produced by a magnetic sample at a given location, The sensor arrangement is scanned along a predetermined scan pattern. The apparatus then acquires sampling data from the sensor arrangement, the sampled data providing a representation of the magnetic field distribution of the magnetic sample. The data is preferably acquired by an interface card for a PC, which stores sampled data in the main memory of the PC for data analysis and display.
