Abstract: A method, system, server processing system, and computer program product for conducting a skills competency search and/or managing skills acquisition for a user. In one aspect, the method includes, in a server processing system, steps of: receiving, from a client processing system in data communication with the server processing system, skills competency data indicative a user's competency for a set of skills; storing the skills competency data in a data store; receiving a skills acquisition notice indicative of a skills acquisition task completed by the user; obtaining skills acquisition data based upon the skills acquisition task; updating the skills competency data for the user according to the skills acquisition data; and generating a report indicative of the user's competency for the set of skills.
