  • Patent number: 10357348
Abstract: A fluid manifold that consistently and reliably delivers fluids to one or more subject interfaces is provided. A branched pattern of bifurcated lumina carrying the fluid from a source to the outlets in each subject interface provides substantially equal amounts of fluid to each subject interface, thereby reducing the risk of over- or under-delivery of the fluid. A fluid-scavenging system is also included. A plurality of exhaust inlets in the interior of the subject interfaces is connected to a source of negative pressure through a channel and exhaust port to collect fluid before it can escape the subject interface, thereby reducing the risk of escaping fluid reaching the atmosphere.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 18, 2014
Date of Patent: July 23, 2019

  • Patent number: 7893402
Abstract: The mobility of mass-selected ions in gases is measured at pressures of a few hectopascal by selecting the ions under investigation in a quadrupole filter according to their mass-to-charge ratio m/z, measuring their mobility in a drift region at a pressure of a few hundred Pascal under the influence of a DC electric field and then filtering the measured ions by means of a quadrupole field in order to eliminate, or detect changes in, the mass-to-charge ratio. Several embodiments for the drift region are disclosed, in which the ions are kept in the axis of the drift region by RF fields. As these drift regions can also be utilized for a collision-induced decomposition of the ions, the device can additionally be used as a so-called triple quadrupole mass spectrometer.

  • Patent number: 6390484
Abstract: A vehicle suspension system includes a hydraulic anti-roll mechanism in which a pair of suspension arms (10a, 10b), on opposite sides of the vehicle, are mounted to the vehicle body pivots (16a, 16b). A pair of hydraulic struts (22a, 22b) are connected between the suspension arms and the body (14). The struts are asymmetrically mounted so that one is inboard of its suspension arm pivot and the other is outboard of its suspension arm pivot. The two lower chambers of the struts (22a, 22b), through which the connecting rods (32) of the pistons extend, are hydraulically interconnected, and so are the two upper chambers.
