  • Publication number: 20200004746
Abstract: A graph database for outbreak tracking and management is disclosed. In an example embodiment, an outbreak management system includes a memory device storing instructions that define a graph database for disease outbreak tracking. The instructions specify for a given host that a host node is created and an episode node is connected to the host node via a ‘case’ link. The episode node is associated with episode parameters that are related to a disease classification of the host. In addition, the instructions specify that an outbreak node is connected to the episode node via a ‘part of’ link to indicate that the host has become part of an outbreak of the disease. The outbreak node is connected to a definition node via a ‘defined as’ link. The definition node specifies disease parameters of the disease that is related to the outbreak node.

  • Publication number: 20190374900
Abstract: An apparatus (10, 110, 210, 310) for the separation and recovery of CO2, from air, by a cyclic adsorption/desorption process using a loose particulate sorbent for gas adsorption. The apparatus has a plurality of adjacent, parallel, spaced-apart layers (24, 124, 224, 324), each having a stiff frame supporting a flexible, gas-permeable fabric enclosure for the sorbent. The gas inlet (14, 114, 214, 314) and outlet (18,1 18, 216, 316) of the apparatus are on its axially opposite sides, and each layer (24,124, 224, 324) extending axially within the apparatus. The recovered CO2 can be either supplied to an enclosed space, recycled to an enclosed space, from which the CO2 had been separated, or vented to the exterior of the latter enclosed space.

  • Publication number: 20190233085
Abstract: Systems and methods for deploying adjacent trailing edge flaps that are part of different flap assemblies of different stiffnesses are disclosed. An exemplary method comprises: deploying a first flap of a first flap assembly having a first stiffness by a first deployment amount and deploying a second flap adjacent the first flap by a second deployment amount where the deployment amount of the first flap part of the flap assembly of lower stiffness is greater than the second deployment amount of the second flap part of the flap assembly of higher stiffness. The difference in deployment amounts may be adapted to improve continuity between the first flap and the second flap when the first and second flaps are deployed and subjected to an aerodynamic load.

  • Publication number: 20190079078
Abstract: Disclosed herein are biomarkers for determining susceptibility to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Susceptibility to ASD is determined by detecting IP3R Ca2+ signaling activity level in cells, wherein a decrease in IP3R Ca2+ activity is indicative of ASD susceptibility. Also disclosed herein are methods of screening a therapeutic agent for ASD. A candidate drug is determined to be a therapeutic agent for treatment of ASD if the IP3R Ca2+ signaling activity is higher in the presence of the candidate drug than in its absence. Further disclosed herein are methods for prognosis, diagnosis, or treatment for an ASD, comprising determining IP3R Ca2+ signaling activity level in a said biological sample; and comparing it to a reference value from a control subject, where a lower activity level than the reference value in the sample is indicative of the presence of an autism spectrum disorder.

  • Patent number: 10122630
Abstract: Methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and traffic manager computing devices that forward a request to resolve a domain name from a client device to a Domain Name System (DNS) server device and a response from the DNS server device including an original Internet Protocol (IP) address corresponding to the domain name to the client device. Content is retrieved from a location associated with the domain name in response to a request for the content received from the client device. Classification information comprising at least a type of the retrieved content is determined. The retrieved content is sent to the client device in response to the request for the content. A determination is made when a confidence threshold has been exceeded based on the classification information. A steering endpoint IP address is sent to the DNS server device, when the determining indicates that the confidence threshold has been exceeded.
