  • Publication number: 20250024889
Abstract: A vapour delivery apparatus is configured to deliver a vapour comprising an active ingredient to a user drawing air through the apparatus for inhalation. The apparatus comprises an air passage defined between an air inlet and an outlet, and a vapour generator arranged in the air passage. The vapour generator comprises a substrate loaded with a source of an active ingredient for generation of the vapour. The vapour generator also comprises a constricted air flow region adapted to provide a higher air flow velocity in the constricted air flow region than an air flow velocity in the air passage upstream of the vapour generator for a given air flow rate from the air inlet to the outlet. The constricted air flow region is bounded on at least one side by the substrate to extract vapour from the substrate into the air flow in the constricted air flow region. There is also provided a method of using a vapour delivery apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20240395233
Abstract: Training data comprising a plurality of training pairs is obtained. Each training pair comprises instrumental audio data and vocal audio data separated from audio data of a musical work of a respective plurality of musical works. For one or more training pairs of the plurality of training pairs, the vocal audio data is processed with machine-learned model(s) of a machine-learned generative audio model grouping to obtain a vocal intermediate representation for the vocal audio data. The instrumental audio data is processed with a pre-trained encoding model to obtain an instrumental intermediate representation for the instrumental audio data. A loss function is evaluated that evaluates a difference between the vocal intermediate representation and the instrumental intermediate representation. Values of parameters of a machine-learned model of the machine-learned generative audio model grouping are modified based on the loss function.

  • Publication number: 20230398542
Abstract: In an acid digestion reaction performed in a vessel, an elastic lid or septum can be mounted to the mouth of the vessel with a flanged band. In response to determining that a predetermined pressure has been reached in the vessel, a closing force being applied to the lid or septum can be reduced to initiate venting from the vessel. One or more parameters, including the closing force, can be monitored during the venting, and the closing force can be responsively adjusted to optimize the venting. The closing force can be provided by a clamping apparatus that may or may not include a hydraulic system. The clamping apparatus can be configured to increase the closing force in response to increased hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic system. The clamping apparatus can include an engager having an upwardly extending recess extending at least partially around a downwardly protruding portion of the engager.

  • Publication number: 20230233226
Abstract: A surgical tool has an elongate tool body that supports a retractable scalpel blade at a working end of the tool body. A bougie passage extends through the tool body to receive a bougie slidable longitudinally through the passage in the tool body. The tool body may be a single scalpel handle, or a pair of forceps. In either instance, the tool may be used to perform a cricothyrotomy procedure on patient or introduce a thoracostomy tube into a patient. In each instance, the scalpel blade forms an incision, followed by retraction of the blade and insertion of the bougie while the tool remains inserted into the patient. After removal of the tool, the bougie is used to guide subsequent insertion of a tube into the patient.
