  • Publication number: 20250173124
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for true random number generation (RNG) with a target probability distribution with autonomously learning probabilistic circuits. The apparatus utilizes, for individual probabilistic bits (p-bits), a magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) resistor. The apparatus also uses circuitry to harness the fluctuating resistance of the MTJ resistor to generate high-quality random numbers. The hardware footprint depends on the precision required and is smaller than an equally precise or high-quality RNG implemented using CMOS hardware. Post-processing is not required on the generated random numbers.

  • Publication number: 20250173769
Abstract: Systems and methods to controlling green hydrogen production. A cost of an incremental amount of renewable energy and a marginal amount of hydrogen generated by the incremental amount of renewable energy are determined. An amount of incentive payments available for the marginal amount of hydrogen is determined. A total production cost is compared to a revenue value of the marginal amount of hydrogen that is determined by adjustment of the cost of the incremental amount of renewable energy by the amount of incentive payments. Operating parameters of the hydrogen producing electrolyzer are adjusting, based on a relationship between the total production cost and the present revenue value of the marginal amount of hydrogen, to one of increase or decrease an amount of produced hydrogen.

  • Publication number: 20250171725
Abstract: This disclosure describes methods and apparatuses for creating or using a fibrous cell substrate that is formed in a mold using temperature and wettability gradients and that upon which cells can be grown. The disclosed method can include utilizing a temperature gradient and a wettability gradient within a mold to form a porous cell substrate. In particular, the temperature and wettability gradients control nucleation and growth of crystals within the cell substrate solution to form parallel layers of cell substrate. The crystals can be sublimated by freeze drying and the porous cell substrate is seeded. More specifically, the disclosed method includes using pressure and an increased cell mixture viscosity to seed cells deep within the cell substrate. This disclosure also describes an apparatus for forming the structured porous cell substrate.

  • Publication number: 20250174134
Abstract: A request for transport services that identifies a rider, an origin, and a destination is received from a client device. Eligibility of the request to be serviced by a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft is determined based on the origin and the destination. A transportation system determines a first and a second hub for a leg of the transport request serviced by the VTOL aircraft and calculates a set of candidate routes from the first hub to the second hub. A provisioned route is selected from among the set of candidate routes based on network and environmental parameters and objectives including pre-determined acceptable noise levels, weather, and the presence and planned routes of other VTOL aircrafts along each of the candidate routes.

  • Publication number: 20250172553
Abstract: An exemplary system and method are disclosed for a lateral flow immunoassay test designed for testing insulin efficacy and a method of using the device. The exemplary test, and associated device or system, specifically detects ineffective insulin by testing, in an insulin sample, for the presence of amyloid fibrils that may have formed from denatured insulin protein molecules. If amyloid fibrils are present, the antibodies conjugated with a label of the label-conjugated anti-amyloid fibrils (e.g., gold nanoparticles), of the test, would bind to the amyloid fibrils present in the sample to reveal a test line, or other indicator described herein, indicating the presence of amyloid fibrils. The test can employ a secondary antibody as a control line to detect the presence of insulin.

  • Patent number: 12311156
Abstract: An apparatus for processing a phlebotomy needle having a double-ended needle with a tub between its tips. The apparatus has a clamping electrode for contacting/clamping one end of the needle between the hub and tip and tip electrode for contacting the needle as its tip. A voltage is applied between the clamping electrode and the tip electrode, to soften/melt the needle via resistive heating, at the same time as the tip electrode is advanced to compress the needle tip and blunt it. The apparatus includes means for allowing the needle to be rotated through so that the first tip and the second tip can be blunted. Also disclosed is means for detaching the needle from a main body and/or for removing a cover covering one end of the needle. The apparatus enables a Vacutainer-type needle to be disassembled into its various parts and the needle rendered blunt and non-hazardous.
