Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for automatic payment of traffic related fees, such as parking fess and road taxes, for a vehicle, the method comprising the steps of determining the position of the vehicle to be parked, said determining of the position of the vehicle applying information from a first position determining system and a network-based position correction system, determining the time the vehicle has been parked, and completing a payment transaction using a data link between the vehicle and a server, the payment transaction being completed in accordance with the determined position and the parking time of the vehicle. The present invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method.
