    Abstract: A composite packaging foil for a childproof and/or senior friendly packaging, including a first layer having a first outer surface and a first inner surface, wherein the first layer imparts tear-inhibiting properties to the packaging foil, a second layer having a second outer surface and a second inner surface, wherein the second outer surface of the second layer is sealable against a mating surface, an inner layer arranged between the first inner surface of the first layer and the second inner surface of the second layer. The packaging foil has at least one weakening zone in which the tear-inhibiting properties of the packaging foil are reduced by a plurality of perforations that are present in the first layer. The density of perforations in the weakening zone lies between 50 and 250, preferably between 50 and 150 and particularly preferred between 70 and 130 perforations per cm2.

    Abstract: The composite comprises (i) a reinforcement phase comprising fibres, this phase being in a volume percentage comprised from 25 to 70% with respect to the total volume of the composite, and (ii) a matrix phase which is in a volume percentage comprised from 30 to 75% with respect to the total volume of the composite, being the sum of volumes of both phases forming the composite 100%, and wherein the matrix phase comprises a cured epoxy resin in a percentage comprised from 50-100% by weight with respect to the total weight of the matrix phase, and the cured epoxy resin being obtainable by: (a) mixing an epoxide-functionalised resin with a functionality equal to or higher than 2 with a cross-linking agent of formula (I), and (b) curing the reaction mixture at a temperature comprised from 10 to 200° C., this step being performed in the absence of a catalyst. The composite is reprocessable, reparable and recyclable and shows mechanochromic behaviour, being useful in the manufacture of an article.
