  • Patent number: 7690353
Abstract: Noise and vibrations associated with a common rail fuel system drive linkage are reduced by synchronizing a high pressure common rail supply pump with engine operation. This may be accomplished by selecting a linkage associated with a desired ratio of engine speed to pump speed along with selecting a number of pump plungers and cam lobes that results in synchronizing action of the pump with engine combustion events. In particular, a pattern of pumping events per engine cycle repeats during each engine cycle. In a more sophisticated version, the pattern of pumping events per engine cycle includes a sub-pattern of pumping events that repeats an integer number of times each engine cycle, where the integer number equals the number of engine cylinders.

  • Publication number: 20100082029
Abstract: A Static Compression Device (SC device) for active, measurable compression of a fusion graft by the surgeon at the time of surgery is disclosed. The SC device is attachable to adjacent vertebral bodies or other pieces of bone and has a device that applies compressive force to the adjacent vertebral bodies or pieces of bone to assist fusion according to Wolffs law. The SC device has a locking mechanism that maintains the compression applied at surgery, but prevents further compression (settling) from occurring after surgery. The SC device allows the surgeon the ability to compress a segment, measure the applied compression, and lock the segment in the compressed position. In one embodiment of the invention, the pressure is applied to the SC device through a compression device that applies a desired and measurable amount of force.

  • Patent number: 7689708
Abstract: A storage server includes various components that monitor and control the data flow therebetween. If an egress (downstream) port becomes congested, that information is propagated upstream to the egress components such as the port manager, the traffic manager processor, and the egress storage processor, which are each configured to control their data flow to prevent dropped data frames. In addition, the egress storage processor can communicate the congestion information to the ingress storage processor, which further propagates the congestion information to the ingress components such as the traffic manager processor and the port manager processor. The ingress port manager processor can then direct the ingress port to stop accepting ingress data for the storage server to process until the congestion has been addressed.

  • Patent number: 7684519
Abstract: A method for adjusting a DC offset slice point in an RF receiver is provided and may comprise estimating DC offset using a combination of fast tracking of an input signal and slow tracking of an input signal. If both are used, the fast tracking may be executed prior to executing the slow tracking. The fast tracking may acquire synchronizing signals transmitted before a payload. Additionally, noise tolerance may be increased in the fast tracking and the slow tracking by using tracking envelopes. The fast tracking may average acquisition envelopes and tracking envelopes using a fast tracking weighting factor to a sum of the acquisition envelopes and a slow tracking weighting factor to a sum of the tracking envelopes. Additionally, the slow tracking may average the tracking envelopes.
