Publication number: 20190216569Abstract: An apparatus comprising a pivot mechanism configured to be mounted to a supporting structure, an arcuate arm operatively engaged to the pivot mechanism and a needle guide mounted to the arcuate arm. The pivot mechanism is pivotable about a pivot axis passing through a center of spherical rotation of the apparatus, the arcuate arm is rotatable along a circular path centered around the center of spherical rotation and the needle guide is configured to guide a surgical instrument to move perpendicular to the circular path along a radial axis. Once a target location on a patient's body is set and the pivotal axis is fixed, the rotation around pivotal axis, sliding along the circular path and movement of the surgical instrument along of the radial axis enable a target location to be reached from a range of different locations and angles on a patient's body.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2019Publication date: July 18, 2019Inventors: Modher Ibrahim Al-Shawi, Ibrahim Mudhir Ahmed Al-Shawi

Publication number: 20180153637Abstract: A surgical gas shield device comprising a gas shield module and an elevation system. The gas shield module has a body housing which is divided into a discharge chamber and a suction chamber. The elevation system is configured to hold said gas shield module around a surgical site at a desired position and orientation. Discharge of a gas introduced from a positive pressure source through discharge ports of the gas shield module over the surgical site and suction of the gas and other air borne byproducts from the surgical site through the suction ports of the gas shield device by application of a partial vacuum create a gas shield over the surgical site. The gas shield module can be fork type or closed loop type. The elevation system can be flexible fold type or inflatable type.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 26, 2016Publication date: June 7, 2018Inventors: Modher Ibrahim Al-Shawi, Ibrahim Mudhir Ahmed Al-Shawi

Patent number: 7470394Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for producing heating elements in the form of tubes with a resistive heater therein, surrounded by refractory powder. A filling pipe is inserted into said tube, and powder is allowed to flow down said pipe. The pipe is moved upwardly, to allow powder to flow out, and then moved downwardly to rest on the powder. In a preferred form, the pipe is forced downwardly to further compact the powder, preferably by means of an impact with a hammer. Means may be provided to selectively grip the pipe to move it upwards, and the gripping means and the hammer can have a common drive mechanism. A valve may be provided to allow flow of powder into the pipe to be shut off when said tube is filled with powder.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2001Date of Patent: December 30, 2008Assignee: Design Dynamics LimitedInventor: Ibrahim Al-Shawi
