Publication number: 20250125416Abstract: High molecular weight functionalized polymers (“high dielectric polymers”) are disclosed herein, along with related methods of use and manufacture. The high dielectric polymers have a relatively high dielectric permittivity (e.g., greater than 10) as well as a relatively low glass transition temperature (e.g., less than ?30° C.). The polymers may be produced utilizing addition polymerization or anionic ring opening to yield a linear or branched polymer backbone containing numerous residual nucleophiles. Then, nucleophilic substitution may be carried out to functionalize the residual nucleophiles. The functionalized polymer may then be purified and used as polymer electrolyte in an electrochemical cell (e.g., as nonaqueous polymeric electrolyte in a secondary Li-ion battery), if desired.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2022Publication date: April 17, 2025Applicant: Ionic Materials, Inc.Inventors: Alexander Ali Ibrahim Mohamed, Andrew Paul Leitner

Publication number: 20250064756Abstract: Novel composites as antibacterial agents having crystalline oxides (TiO2 and ZnO) combined with organoselenium compounds. The organoselenium aids in increasing the biosafety of the synthesized composite, which is characterized by different physicochemical techniques. Additionally, XRD indicates that the oxide part of the introduced composite is a mixture of TiO2 as a rutile structure and ZnO as a hexagonal structure. The results confirm the successful grafting of the organoselenium compound onto the mixed oxide nanoparticles. Besides, the SEM and TEM morphology of the fabricated composites was found as heterogeneous particles that are formed as micro flowers or nanosheets according to the specific organoselenium compound used. The formed composites have a promising inhibition zone against many microorganisms and can be effective as novel antibacterial agents.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 25, 2023Publication date: February 27, 2025Inventors: Hany Mohamed Abd El-Lateef AHMED, Saadeldin Elsayed Ibrahim SHABAAN, Mai Mustafa Khalaf ALI, Mohamed GOUDA, Ibrahim Mohamed Abdelhalim MOHAMED
