Patent number: 10759576Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a container closure that prevents accidental initial opening of a container. The closure mechanism includes at least one temporary interlocking mechanism having a two part fastener that engages the moveable part of the closure with the fixed part of the closure. The temporary interlocking mechanism is invisible when the container is closed. It is positioned in a location different from the location of the orifice of the closure or from the path that the liquid follows during dispensing. This temporary interlocking mechanism includes at least one element that breaks or irreversibly deforms during the initial opening of the container. The additional force required to break or to irreversibly deform the breakable or irreversibly deformable element of the temporary interlocking mechanism during the first opening mitigates the risk of accidental opening during manufacturing, shipment or storage of the goods.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2017Date of Patent: September 1, 2020Assignee: The Procter and Gamble CompanyInventors: Markus Port, Ibrahim Ulas, Marion Michele Marie-Pierre Dubreuil

Patent number: 10640270Abstract: The present invention is directed toward providing container closure structures that include at least one breakable or irreversibly deformable engagement element. Specifically, a closure having at least one engagement element that is breakable or irreversibly deformable upon application of an opening force that is equal to, or higher than, a threshold force value, wherein the closure comprises one or more moveable parts and one or more fixed parts; and wherein the engagement element engages the moveable part and the fixed part of the closure; and wherein the mechanical part inhibits the separation between the moveable and the fixed part of the closure upon application of opening force below the threshold force value; and sealing together the moveable part and the fixed part of the closure at one or more locations; a breakable splint which connects the moveable and fixed parts of the closure created by a two step molding process.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2017Date of Patent: May 5, 2020Assignee: The Procter and Gamble PlazaInventors: Markus Port, Ibrahim Ulas

Patent number: 8418854Abstract: A package (10) comprising a tray component (20) and a hood component (30) containing a plurality of products (40). The tray component comprises a bottom panel (21) and at least two opposed outer side panels (22, 23). The hood component (30) is placed within the tray component (20), comprises a top panel (31) and at least two inner side panels (32, 33), wherein said two inner side panels placed respectively in face to face relation with said two outer side panels of said tray component. When no load is applied on the top panel, a gap (G) separates the products from the top panel, and when a load of 1.50 N/cm2 is applied uniformly on the top panel (31), the inner side panels (32, 33) bend inwardly towards the products (40), so that the inner side panels come in contact with the products without the top panel coming in contact with the products.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2010Date of Patent: April 16, 2013Assignee: The Procter and Gamble CompanyInventors: Joerg Zimmermann, Ibrahim Ulas
