Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to e.g. a method performed by a user equipment, UE, (10) for handling cell change of a secondary cell for the UE (10). The UE receives from a master node (12), a message of a first RAT comprising a reconfiguration message for a conditional reconfiguration of the secondary cell of a second RAT. The UE transmits to 5the master node, a first complete message of the second RAT embedded in another message of the first RAT, wherein the first complete message indicates that the UE is able to comply to the conditional reconfiguration. The UE (10) further transmits to the master node (12), upon fulfilment of a condition of the conditional reconfiguration, a second complete message of the second RAT embedded in a RRC message of the first 10RAT.(FIG.

Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method in a wireless device is provided. The wireless device is currently connected to a first radio access node and configured with an s-measure by the first radio access node that controls when the wireless device starts performing measurements. Upon configuration by the first radio access node to perform measurements on a first radio access technology, RAT, the wireless device starts to perform the measurements when the first radio access node's s-measure criteria is fulfilled. Upon configuration by the first radio access node to perform measurements on a second RAT, the wireless device starts to perform the measurements on the second RAT whether the first radio access node's s-measure criteria is fulfilled or not.

  • Publication number: 20230056267
Abstract: A method performed by a first network node for assisting a second network node in resuming of a User Equipment, UE, in inactive state into connected state in a Radio Access Network, RAN. The first network node obtains (401) a Local RAN Node Identifier associated with a Public Land Mobile Network, PLMN, RAN Node ID, identifying the first network node. The first network node sends (402) the Local RAN node Identifier and associated PLMN RAN Node ID to be obtainable by the second network node. The first network node suspends (403) the UE from connected state into inactive state and sends an identifier to the UE. The identifier comprises a UE Context ID and the associated Local RAN Node Identifier. The UE Context ID identifies the UE context associated with the UE. The UE Context ID, Local RAN Node Identifier and associated PLMN RAN Node ID will assist the second network node to obtain the UE Context for the resuming of the UE into connected state, wherein a connection is to be provided by the second network node.

  • Patent number: 11582826
Abstract: According to an aspect, a user equipment, UE, in a suspended state in a Radio Access Network, RAN, in response to expiration of a first timer, transmits an RRCResumeRequest message. The UE receives a reject message in response to the RRCResumeRequest message. In response to the reject message, the UE starts a second timer and subsequently transmits a further RRCResumeRequest message. The further RRCResumeRequest message is received by the network during a period bounded approximately by the lesser of a duration of the second timer and a period of the periodic UE event and the greater of the duration of the second timer and the period of the periodic UE event.

  • Patent number: 11570733
Abstract: Among other things, the method and apparatus examples herein provide a solution to the problems that arise regarding the need for a wireless device to achieve source synchronization in a beam-based system, where the wireless communication network does not define “cells” for connected-mode wireless devices. The problems relate to how a wireless device can re-synchronize with its source access node in a beam-based system that mainly relies on self-contained transmissions from transmission points in the network. As one example advantage, the contemplated methods and apparatus enable wireless devices to perform measurements to support mobility procedures even when no data transmissions are scheduled.

  • Patent number: 11570669
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate, for example, to operations performed by a network node for handling communication of a wireless device in a wireless communication network. The network node receives a first preamble associated with a first downlink (“DL”) beam from the wireless device. The network node transmits a random access response (“RAR”) to the wireless device using the first DL beam associated with the first preamble. Responsive to transmitting the RAR using the first DL beam, the network node determines that the wireless device has not received the RAR. Responsive to determining that the wireless device has not received the RAR, the network node transmits the RAR using a second DL beam.

  • Publication number: 20230007623
Abstract: A wireless device performs a method for updating a stored configuration. While in a power saving state, the wireless device monitors a paging channel. When the wireless device receives a paging message on the paging channel, it determines whether the paging channel includes a message relating to updating a stored configuration of the wireless device. If the paging channel includes a message relating to updating the stored configuration of the wireless device, the wireless device performs actions determined by said message.

  • Patent number: 11540296
Abstract: A user equipment, UE, performs measurements based on a plurality of RLM sources received in beam-formed downlink signals, where the measurements indicate a quality of a given cell or beam. The plurality of sources comprises two or more of: first reference signals (RSs), second RSs of a different type than the first RSs, and one or more physical channel quality indicators obtained from non-reference-signal data in the beam-formed downlink signals. For each of the plurality of sources used to perform measurements, the UE determines whether a measurement for the respective source indicates an out-of-sync event in response to the measurement being below a first threshold. The UE then performs an RLM action based on determined occurrences of out-of-sync events.

  • Patent number: 11528760
Abstract: A wireless device receives (1502) configuration information indicating that the wireless device is to report identifier information for a cell. The configuration information identifies a first frequency. The wireless device acquires (1504) a first part of system information for the cell on the first frequency, using the configuration information. The wireless device determines (1506) that a second part of system information for the cell is not transmitted on the first frequency. The second part of system information for the cell is necessary for determining the identifier information. The wireless device receives (1508) the second part of system information, including the identifier information, on a second frequency and reports (1510) the identifier information for the cell to the wireless communications network.
