  • Publication number: 20060044992
Abstract: An optical recording medium that is a DVD includes an ink receiving layer and a white underlayer on a label surface side of a disc body. Inner circumferential ends of a reflective layer in an information area, the ink receiving layer, and the white underlayer that are closer to a center of the disc body are arranged inside an inner circumferential end of the information area in a radial direction by about 3 to about 15 mm. • Patent number: 6172842
Abstract: A housing includes a base plate and a metallic cover. The cover may be formed by deep-drawing. The housing accommodates, for example, a magnetic disk, a magnetic head, and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism serves to displace the magnetic head with respect to the magnetic disk. When the cover is coupled to the base plate, a screw is screwed, penetrating the cover, into the tip end of the carriage axis for supporting a carriage. Vibration caused by swinging movement of the carriage is transmitted to the cover through the screw. A vibration absorber adhered to the outer surface of the cover is adapted to absorb the transmitted vibration. Noise may be suppressed in the seek operation.

  • Patent number: 5430451
Abstract: An array antenna mounted on a spacecraft in its stowed state. After the spacecraft is launched in a predetermined position or on a predetermined orbit, the array antenna is extended to a flat plate form or a curved surface form. The array antenna has a structure that a plurality of subarrays are connected by plate springs or the like. The array antenna is extended in a kite form by using cables for connecting a spacecraft body and the subarrays or is extended by using an extension pole mounted on the spacecraft body. Each subarray includes a variable phase shifter to switch a shape and a direction of a directivity beam. A feeder line, a power supply line, a control signal line and the like connect the spacecraft body and each subarray.
