  • Publication number: 20140347624
Abstract: Provided is a diffraction-type multifocal ophthalmic lens for which halos are reduced. Also provided is a diffraction-type multifocal ophthalmic lens having three or more focal points, which is implemented on the basis of the discovery that the diffraction-type multifocal ophthalmic lens has a characteristic whereby multiple focal points can be generated in the intermediate region as well as the near and far regions. Also provided is a method for manufacturing a diffraction-type multifocal ophthalmic lens which provides a simple design and manufacturing method by means of a simple diffraction structure and by replacing a cumbersome computer simulation with a simple method. This diffraction-type multifocal ophthalmic lens has a diffraction structure (20) where a plurality of diffraction zones are formed concentrically on the lens (10), and an equal-pitch region is provided where pitches of at least two zones among the diffraction zones are made equal.

  • Patent number: 8870371
Abstract: Provided is a colored contact lens in which a colored band is disposed at a boundary part between a dark part and a white part of an eye, and a density is gradually changed from the dark part to the white part of the eye such that the density of this colored band decreases from an inner circumference side to an outer circumference side. As a result, a novel colored contact lens is provided with which it is possible to bring out beauty of the white part of the eye, which has been ignored by conventional technology, while an impression is maintained that is as natural and elegant as possible by avoiding an artificial impression such as that found in conventional technology.

  • Publication number: 20130343662
Abstract: A prediction mode selection unit selects, before a pixel subject to encoding is encoded, a prediction mode used to encode the pixel subject to encoding, using a local decoded value of a pixel on a line preceding a line including the pixel subject to encoding by at least 1 line in the order of encoding and in accordance with a predetermined conditional expression, and determines a prediction mode index corresponding to the selected prediction mode. A prediction mode index storage unit stores the prediction mode index. A prediction unit generates a predicted value for the pixel subject to encoding, based on the prediction mode index for the pixel subject to encoding read from the prediction mode index storage unit and using local decoded values of a plurality of adjacent pixels.

  • Patent number: 6101220
Abstract: A motion-compensated predictive error signal is generated in response to a moving-picture signal for every frame related to the moving-picture signal. Calculation is made as to an activity for each of pixels composing the frame in response to the motion-compensated predictive error signal. The activities for the respective pixels composing the frame are accumulated to calculate a 1-frame activity accumulation value. A band of the moving-picture signal in at least one of a spatial direction and a temporal direction is limited with a controllable band limiting characteristic. The controllable band limiting characteristic is controlled in response to the activity for each of the pixels and the 1-frame activity accumulation value.

  • Patent number: 6009108
Abstract: A multiplexing system for converting a plurality of variable-length burst data streams supplied from a plurality of data suppliers into a multiplexed averaged-transfer-rate fixed-length packet stream. Within each output period, for each of the input buffers of a multiplexer, a virtual data quantity in the input buffer at the time t.sub.n is calculated by using the length of each output period and average supply rates at time t.sub.n-1 which are also supplied from the data suppliers. A predetermined amount of data is supplied to a header adder from one of the input buffers which stores data not less than the predetermined amount during the output period from time t.sub.n to time t.sub.n+1.
