  • Patent number: 6530025
Abstract: An authentication checking server makes user authentication checking when an access is made to an individual in-house server. A resource managing server receives a resource request corresponding to the resource of the individual server, calculates the access right to the corresponding resource based on the resource request and the result of the authentication checking, and relays the calculated access right and the resource request to the individual server. Upon receipt of the access right and the resource request, the individual server transmits the resource as a mobile code. A client machine receives and executes the mobile code, whereby an encryption access is made to the resource of the individual server included in an in-house network via the relay agent generated within the client machine.

  • Patent number: 6339592
Abstract: When a source subscriber activates a voice communications unit of a computer, an agent process unit in a computer center receives a data stream transmitted from a voice communications unit. The agent process unit activates a voice communications unit capable of communicating with the voice communications unit, and transfers the data stream from the voice communications unit to the voice communications unit. • Patent number: 6125186
Abstract: An agent is permanently resident in a server as software for the purpose of cryptographic processing. In addition, another agent that is described in mobile code and contains a program for the purpose of cryptographic processing is also stored in the server. When data that are to be sent and received between the server and a client are encrypted, the agent that is described in mobile code is sent from the server to the client. When the client receives data that were encrypted in the server, it reproduces those data by decryption using the received agent.

  • Patent number: 6085222
Abstract: Agents for performing data communication controls are installed in the respective terminals of a server which offers information such as image data, and of a client who wishes to acquire the information. Agents for controlling data communications are also installed in gateways inserted in networks to which the server and the client are connected. The agents acquire information items on the transmission bands of the networks, the structures of the other networks, etc. and information items on the processing capability of the terminal of the client, etc. by such a method of exchanging dummy packets with one another. The data to be transmitted from the terminal of the server to the terminal of the client are converted on the basis of the acquired information items by the agents.

  • Patent number: 5920568
Abstract: A scheduling apparatus and a scheduling method are capable of reading data elements from a plurality of queues in such a form that past hysteresis reflects therein. The scheduling apparatus comprises a queue hysteresis table for storing a value e.sub.-- count obtained subtracting the number of data elements (packets in a router) actually fetched out of the queue, from the number of times with which this queue becomes a processing target with respect to each queue. The apparatus also comprises a scheduling unit for cyclically designating each queue as a processing target, adding "1" to e.sub.-- count, corresponding to that queue, in the queue hysteresis table if no data elements exist in the queue designated as the processing target, consecutively fetching, from the processing target queue, the data elements the number of which corresponds to a value of e.sub.-- count corresponding to the queue if the data elements exist in the processing target queue, and decrementing the value of e.sub.

  • Patent number: 5696900
Abstract: A personal communication service distributed control system provides a personal communication service in a combination of different networks based on the same personal ID without requiring a person originating information to be aware of the type of terminal used by a terminating person. The personal communication service distributed control system includes a plurality of hardware resources. Each of the service control apparatuses includes a plurality of service control program sections, a resource control program section, and a directory control program section. The directory control program section includes a section for referring to a distributed directory in order to perform retrieval for a transfer destination and routing for a control signal simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 5664094
Abstract: An information verifying apparatus for verifying information recorded on a recording medium. One unit of information input is recorded on a storage medium and is retrieved from the storage medium. A buffer memory stores the one unit of information input, the one unit of information stored in the buffer memory being the same as the one unit of information recorded on the storage medium. An output controller outputs the retrieved information and controls the timing of output of the retrieved information. A comparator compares the information from the buffer memory with the information from the output controller. Since the information is verified using a buffer memory and on output controller, verification can be quickly performed without the use of a large quantity of memory.

  • Patent number: 5594722
Abstract: The present invention aims at realizing a real-time call process by performing a timesaving operation in retrieving personal information in a personal communications system for establishing communications based on a unique personal number assigned to each subscriber. In addition to a unique personal number, each subscriber can be assigned a group number identifying a group to which the subscriber belongs and a local number of the group. For example, if a source subscriber specifies as a destination number the group number+local number of subscriber B, a service control point 11 broadcasts over a network a packet addressed with the group number+local number of subscriber B. Each of the service control points in the network determines whether or not a data base connected to it stores a group number which matches the destination address of the packet. If yes, the packet is received.

  • Patent number: 5577028
Abstract: A routing system in a multimedia integrated network formed of nodes connected by links is provided for transmitting various media such as voice, image and data in a packet format. The respective nodes forming the integrated network output the packets in an optimum output direction so that conditions required by various media and reliability of communication are satisfied. Each node includes an interconnection type neural network for determining the packet output direction. An external stimulus input unit outputs an external stimulus to the neurons in the neural network in response to a present state of the integrated network, such as a packet delay time and a packet loss ratio for respective links, and a condition required by the media such as an allowable packet loss ratio. Therefore, the packet is output in an optimum direction which is adaptive to the present state of the integrated network and which satisfies a condition required by the media.

  • Patent number: 5577111
Abstract: In an exchange system which performs a communication based on personal identification information for identifying respective subscribers, the invention has an object of providing a system which can flexibly accommodate a change of the communication terminal of actual use by a movement, for instance, of a calling-side subscriber or a call-receiving-side subscriber. A camp-on communication managing apparatus of the invention has a personal position registration table in which terminal identification information for identifying a communication terminal registered to a subscriber for each personal identification information for identifying the subscriber is registered, and manages communication terminals used by respective subscribers. Thus, a camp-on communication can be established even where a camp-on-registered subscriber changes his communication terminal of actual use.

  • Patent number: 5469419
Abstract: The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus for effecting information recording and/or reproduction on a recording medium loaded in the apparatus. The information processing apparatus comprises a detector for detecting the temperature of the medium and a medium discharging device for discharging the medium from the apparatus when the temperature detected by the detector exceeds a predetermined value so as to prevent change or loss of information recorded on the medium due to temperature increase of the apparatus. The information processing apparatus may further include a control device for suspending the discharge of the medium even when the detected temperature exceeds a predetermined value in the course of a recording or erasing operation, but discharging the medium in case a next operation is not started within a predetermined time after the end of the above operation.
