  • Patent number: 6000265
Abstract: A point tool assembly includes a vertical moving table disposed on a forming table and movable in a direction parallel to the forming table surface and perpendicular to the feed direction of a wire, and a longitudinal moving table disposed on the forming table and movable in a direction parallel to the forming table surface and the feed direction of the wire independently of the vertical moving table. A link arm moves a parallel slide table and first and second inclined slide tables the same distance upon longitudinal movement of the longitudinal moving table. A forming table includes first and second independent tool drive units for supporting first and second point tools in positions where the first and second point tools oppose the wire and moving the tools in a direction substantially parallel to the forming table surface and substantially perpendicular to the feed direction of the wire and in a direction parallel to the forming table surface and the feed direction of the wire.

  • Patent number: 5887471
Abstract: A spring manufacturing apparatus in which the conventional cumbersome process of forming the front end of a quill in accordance with the shape of a desired spring is omitted, and one quill can be used in common for formation of springs having any shapes. A wire is fed out from a wire guide constituted by right and left members, two members symmetric with each other and having inclined surfaces. Tools that are radially arranged to be slidable toward a spring forming space and used for bending, curving, or cutting the wire are caused to abut against the wire to bend or curve it, thereby forming a spring. The spring manufacturing apparatus includes a rotary guide unit, a guide driving motor, tool driving motors, and a CPU. The rotary wire guide unit supports the wire guide and is rotatable about a wire feedout hole of the guide as the center. The guide driving motor transmits a driving force to the rotary wire guide unit. The tool driving motors slide the tools.

  • Patent number: 5875666
Abstract: A tool assembly 120 is attached on a forming table 101 movably in a vertical direction with respect to the forming table 101. The tool assembly 120 has a wedge tool assembly 140 which inserts a wedge tool between coils of wire W being continuously rolled by a coiling assembly 160 and growing coils having a predetermined pitch in an approximate normal-line direction with respect to the forming table 101, and a core block 123 which applies a cutting force to the wire W in cooperation with a cutting tool. This integrally moves the core block 123, the wedge tool and the like.

  • Patent number: 5839312
Abstract: A wire-grip mechanism 60 for gripping a wire W, is arranged rotatable in accordance with a wire guide 70 which feeds the wire W. By rotating a guide mechanism while feed rollers and wire grip mechanism 60 are gripping the wire W, the wire W positioned between the feed rollers and grip mechanism is twisted, and the direction of the wire W fed from the wire guide 70 is changed.

  • Patent number: 5732583
Abstract: A circular table is provided around a wire forming portion. A plurality of forming tool units are disposed on the surface of this circular table such that they are directed to almost the central position (wire forming portion) of the table. Each forming tool unit is movable along guide grooves formed in the surface of the circular table, and its position can be fixed. Therefore, the entering direction of the forming tool mounted to the distal end of the forming tool unit can be arbitrarily changed. Independent servo motors are respectively mounted to the forming tool units, and they can be driven independently of each other.

  • Patent number: 5285669
Abstract: A spring manufacturing apparatus for reducing the time from the beginning to the completion of the manufacturing of a spring having a flat end surface and for manufacturing a large amount of springs at a high-speed. Feed rollers 3a and 3b supply wire material 1 to point tools 4a and 4b. When a single spring is formed, laser output portion 7 is moved in an X direction by the spring pitch length and laser irradiation to the wire material 1 is started. At the same time, feed rollers 3a and 3b feed the wire material for one coil of spring to be manufactured.

  • Patent number: 5259226
Abstract: A spring manufacturing apparatus has a first mode in which a spring pitch is formed by inserting a wedge tool between coils of a wire material forcibly bent by a point tool, and a second mode in which the spring pitch is formed by pushing the bent wire material in a lateral direction. The first and second modes share the same driving source. The direction in which the wedge tool moves in the first mode and that in which the wire material is pushed in the second mode are substantially at right angles to each other, and therefore driving force in the first mode can be used also in the second mode by mounting on the apparatus a member that converts the direction of motion.
