  • Patent number: 5931653
Abstract: The present invention relates to a low nitrogen oxygen regenerative burner, a regenerative burner system and a regenerative burning method. The low nitrogen oxide regenerative burner is comprised of one or more pairs of regenerators having a regenerating section inside and air supply and exhaust ports which open directly opened into a furnace; and one or more fuel injection nozzles for each of the air supply and exhaust ports, which also open directly into the furnace at locations apart from the corresponding air supply and exhaust port. The regenerative burner system consists of a furnace body, the low nitrogen oxide regenerative burner and a control means. The regenerative burning method is the process whereby air is preheated in the regenerator, injected from the air supply and exhaust ports of the regenerators into the furnace, fuel from the fuel injection nozzles located apart from the air supply and exhaust ports, is injected.

  • Patent number: 5571006
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a regenerative burner, burner system and method of burning using regenerative burners which comprises a fuel supply section with its tip opening into a furnace provided along the burner axis; a flame stabilizing section, provided at the tip of the fuel supply section; a room temperature air supply section with its tip also opening into the furnace, provided around the fuel supply section; plural pre-heated high temperature air supply sections with their tips opening into the furnace, provided around but apart from the fuel supply section; heat storage material, upstream from the tip of the pre-heated high temperature air supply section.

  • Patent number: 4945841
Abstract: A furnace and burner construction and method of burning fuel therein. The furnace housing has an end wall and side walls extending generally perpendicularly from the end wall and defining a furnace interior. One or more air supply ports open axially thereof through the end wall, and at least one fuel supply port opens axially thereof through the end wall and is spaced from the air supply port or ports. The air supply port is spaced from the side walls. When generally conical surfaces of jets of fuel and air are injected into the interior of the furnace through the air supply port or ports and the fuel supply port for carrying out burning of the fuel, recirculating currents of combustion products from the burning of the fuel are formed in the space between the jets and the side walls or between the jets themselves to lower the temperature of the burning.

  • Patent number: 4585161
Abstract: An air fuel ratio control system comprises a first valve provided in a fuel pipe through which a fuel is supplied to a burner, a second valve provided in an air pipe through which air is supplied to the burner, a varying circuit for varying responsive to a preset flow rate of fuel a valve opening degree of each of the first and second valves while maintaining a constant ratio between the valve opening degrees of the first and second valves, so that an air fuel ratio of a flow rate of fuel flowing through the first valve and a flow rate of air flowing through the second valve assumes a value greater than a theoretical air fuel ratio, a first sensor for detecting a flow rate of fuel flowing through the fuel pipe, a second sensor for detecting a flow rate of air flowing through the air pipe, a fuel bypass pipe provided in the fuel pipe for bypassing the first valve, a third valve provided in the fuel bypass pipe, and a control circuit supplied with output signals of the first and second sensors for controlling a

  • Patent number: 4021188
Abstract: Burner arrangements for staged combustion to decrease nitrogen oxides (NOx) during the combustion of hydrocarbon fuel with air. The burner arrangements have a combustion into which hydrocarbon fuel and less than 70% of the stoichiometric air are introduced, and a path for the secondary air around the combustion chamber. A flame holding means is provided in one end of the combustion chamber to stabilize the substoichiometric combustion so that a partially burned gas containing mainly H.sub.2 and CO as combustible components is obtained. The combustion chamber has an exit, and there is an exit from the secondary air path near the exit of the combustion chamber. A discharging means for the partially burned gas is provided at the exit of the combustion chamber to vary the pattern of the flow of said partially burned gas by converting the enthalpy of said partially burned gas into kinetic energy.
