The encoded content encoded by a prescribed encoding system is encrypted, an encryption expansion header is generated that includes at least one attribute information of attribute information indicating whether or not the content is encrypted and attribute information indicating the encryption system used, transport protocol processing required to transfer the content is performed and a basic transport header is generated, a packet being sent which includes the basic transport header, the encryption expansion header, and the encrypted content.

Subsequently, the processed packet segment is transmitted to the network. Packet segments are received from the network. From among a plurality of error correction schemes prepared in advance, the scheme to be employed is selected for each of the received packet segments based on predetermined information contained in each received packet segment, and the selected error correction scheme is applied to the received packet segment.

    Abstract: A headset has a voice recognition unit. It allows control of an external apparatus by a voice input through a microphone. The headset also has a switch for controlling execution of a voice recognition process, so that the user can start and stop the voice recognition process as desired. The switch is provided remotely of the microphone to avoid interference with the voice commands from the user. In one embodiment, the switch is provided on one speaker unit on the side opposite to the speaker unit on which the microphone is provided in order to prevent noise, such as an operation noise of the switch, from being input to the microphone.
