  • Publication number: 20020180355
Abstract: Disclosed is a plasma display device which is characterized in that a discharge gas sealed in plasma discharge spaces where discharge is performed is substantially only nitrogen. The discharge gas sealed in the plasma discharge spaces where the discharge is performed may include a first gas comprised of nitrogen gas, and a second gas containing at least one gas selected from the group consisting of xenon gas, krypton gas, neon gas, helium gas and argon gas. As a result, it is possible to provide a plasma display device which is high in reliability, can achieve high contrast, and can give a high luminance even at a low discharge gas pressure.

  • Patent number: 6016028
Abstract: A color picture tube is provided with a glass bulb in which the external surface of the effective display area of the face plate is formed substantially flat and a color selection mask, having the curvature projected toward the face plate, provided opposed to the internal surface of the face plate within the glass bulb. Therefore, the external surface is flat, the mechanical shock resistance characteristic is high, a tension can surely be applied to the color selection mask and moreover vibration of the color selection mask can be prevented even if external vibration is applied thereto.

  • Patent number: 5949183
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to enable production of a flat color selecting mechanism in which no floating of a damper wire is produced, accompanied by flattening of a cathode-ray tube screen. A color selecting mechanism frame over which a color selecting electrode thin plate is stretched is formed so as to have at least one point of inflection between a center portion and end portions of the frame.

  • Patent number: 5656885
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a transmission type flat cathode ray tube in which a flat glass tube envelope (15) is formed of a triple structure having a screen panel (11), a back panel (12) and a funnel portion (14) having a neck portion (13). A carbon film (24) to which an anode voltage is applied is formed on the inner surface of the back panel 12 in an opposing relation to a phosphor screen (19) of the screen panel (11). Thus, the occurrence of a pseudo signal in the transmission type flat cathode ray tube can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 5418075
Abstract: On a long base film (7) made of polyethylene terephthalate, there are formed a stripping layer (8), an aluminum layer (9), a phosphor layer (10) and a bonding layer (11) to construct a thermal transfer foil (P). A phosphor screen is formed on a glass panel by using the thermal transfer foil (P). In the process for forming a phosphor layer of a cathode ray tube, the number of manufacturing processes can be reduced so that a manufacturing cost of the phosphor screen can be reduced. Also, there can be obtained a stable phosphor screen having a constant film thickness.

  • Patent number: 5210460
Abstract: An electron gun supporting member for securing and supporting an electron gun within a cathode ray tube, such as a Braun tube of a television receiver, is disclosed. The electron gun supporting member is comprised of a shield section, electron gun supporting sections and connecting sections. The function of the electron gun supporting sections is to secure and support the electron gun with respect to the cathode ray tube, while that of the connecting sections is to establish electrical connection between the last electrode of the electron gun and an electrically conductive layer formed on the inner wall of the cathode ray tube. The electron gun supporting sections and the connecting sections are bent obliquely outwards in a direction opposite to the direction of insertion of the electron gun into the cathode ray tube.
