  • Patent number: 8932952
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for polishing a silicon wafer, wherein a surface to be polished of a silicon wafer is rough polished, while supplying a polishing liquid, which is obtained by adding a water-soluble polymer to an aqueous alkaline solution that contains no free abrasive grains, to a polishing cloth. Consequently, the surface to be polished can be polished at high polishing rate and the flatness of the edge portion including roll-off and roll-up can be controlled.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 23, 2011
Date of Patent: January 13, 2015
    Assignee: Sumco Corporation
Inventors: Shinichi Ogata, Ryuichi Tanimoto, Ichiro Yamasaki, Shunsuke Mikuriya

  • Patent number: 6043423
Abstract: On a top surface of a substrate, a first and a second electrode are formed. A p-type semiconductor film is formed over substantially the entire exposed area on the top surface of the substrate and over the first electrode. An n-type semiconductor film is also formed over substantially the entire surface, but does not cover the first electrode, the p-type semiconductor film and the second electrode. A junction surface between the p-type and n-type semiconductor films extends over substantially the entire substrate, thereby providing a thermoelectric device which can cool or heat a wide surface area. The inclusion of the junction surface between p-type and n-type films, which extends over substantially the entire surface of the substrate, provides a unit whose top surface serves as a heat-absorbing portion and whose bottom surface serves as a heat-releasing portion.

  • Patent number: 5554059
Abstract: An arrangement for damping vibrations transmitted from an engine of a small watercraft to its hull even while the ship is travelling at high speed. Its main engine is mounted on the bed of the ship by fixing its legs to the bed through a fixing element including rubber mounting members. This arrangement further includes an engine movement restricting member for preventing the engine from moving relative to the hull.

  • Patent number: 4839767
Abstract: An element for detecting internal faults in an insulating gas charged electrical apparatus comprises a substrate disposed in the electrical apparatus charged with an insulating gas, a pair of electrodes disposed on the substrate, and a thin metal film covering the pair of electrodes and the exposed surface of the substrate. This film is capable of producing fluorides with low conductivity upon reacting with a decomposed gas produced by internal faults of the electrical apparatus. Since the thin metal film exhibits high response characteristics readily in reaction with even a trace amount of a decomposed gas, it is possible to promptly detect faults occurring in the electrical apparatus, such as a partial discharge or local heating. In addition, a device for detecting internal faults in an insulating gas charge electrical apparatus using the internal fault detection element utilizes an optical signal for transmitting signals.

  • Patent number: 4791256
Abstract: In an interrupter, an insulated nozzle is disposed in the vicinity between a pair of contact elements and is adapted to extinguish an arc occurring between the contact elements by blowing an insulating gas thereto. This insulated nozzle is formed from a fluoroplastic and boron nitride mixed thereinto, the mixed proportion of boron nitride being within a range of weight percentages of 0.3 to 1.0.

  • Patent number: 4376840
Abstract: A flame retardant liquid rubber composition comprises a hydrogenated polyhydroxybutadiene polymer and castor oil, which are modified with an isocyanate having the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 respectively represent a lower alkyl group or hydrogen atom and n is an integer of 1 to 4, and alumina hydrate and magnesium hydroxide. The castor oil can be incorporated before adding said isocyanate or can be converted into an isocyanate prepolymer by reacting with said isocyanate before the addition.
