  • Patent number: 10885508
Abstract: A device and method in a vehicle control unit for providing electronic commerce transaction authentication are provided. Upon receiving an electronic commerce transaction request relating to a transaction source, the vehicle control unit authenticates the transaction source against a vehicle travel route parameter by comparing the source location data with the vehicle travel route parameter. When the source location data compares favorably with the vehicle travel route parameter, an electronic commerce authentication is generated in response to the request, and transmitted.

  • Patent number: 10175809
Abstract: The vehicle electronic mobile device system includes an executable software program configured to lock down the tactile input of the electronic mobile device when the electronic mobile device is paired and the vehicle is in a vehicle operating condition. The vehicle electronic mobile device system includes a hands-free system. The executable software program is further configured to allow other functions of the electronic mobile device remain operative and incoming texts and phone calls are pushed through the hands-free system. Responses to the incoming texts and phone calls are transmitted from the driver to the electronic mobile device through the hands-free system. Accordingly, the vehicle electronic mobile device system discourages users from handling the electronic mobile device but allows the driver to maintain communications through the electronic mobile device by utilizing the hands-free system.

  • Publication number: 20180148007
Abstract: A system for adjusting one or more vehicle settings includes one or more processors, one or more occupant recognition sensors communicatively coupled to the one or more processors and configured to output an occupant recognition signal indicative of an identity of one or more vehicle occupants, and one or more memory modules communicatively coupled to the one or more processors. The one or more memory modules store logic that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to: recognize a first vehicle occupant of the one or more vehicle occupants, determine a first vehicle zone in which the first vehicle occupant is present, automatically adjust the one or more vehicle settings based on one or more occupant preference settings associated with the first vehicle occupant and the first vehicle zone.

  • Publication number: 20180144622
Abstract: A parking notification system for identifying a location of a vehicle includes a controller, a processor, a non-transitory computer readable memory, a camera, and a machine-readable instruction set. The controller includes the processor and the non-transitory computer readable memory. The camera is communicatively coupled to the controller, where the camera automatically captures image data and transmits the image data to the controller. The machine-readable instruction set is stored in the non-transitory computer readable memory and causes the processor to determine when the vehicle enters a parking area, activate the camera in response to determining that the vehicle has entered the parking area, receive the image data from the camera once activated, determine when the vehicle is parked, determine parking information from the image data, and transmit the parking information automatically to an output of the controller in response to determining that the vehicle is parked.
