    Abstract: Embodiments are directed to publishing file type associations for remote applications and to automatically updating file type associations for remote applications. In an embodiment, a remote application server sends to an administrative user an indication of remote applications that are provided by the remote application server. The remote application server of receives from the administrative user an indication of those remote applications that are to be published for computer systems managed by the administrative user. The remote application server also receives from the administrative user an indication of which file type associations are to be published for the indicated remote applications and publishes the indicated remote applications with the indicated file type associations on the remote application server. In this manner, users accessing the remote application server have access to the published applications with the remote applications' associated file types.

    Abstract: In order to minimize the delay of the video images viewed by a network conference attendee, an intelligent buffering process (IB process) selectively discards video frames from at least one point, and in an embodiment, many network points, such as at “in” and/or “out” buffers of clients, servers, routers, etc. Packets of video frame data arrive at a buffer, which can fill to a predetermined limit if the packets cannot be forwarded due to delays or slow connections. To forward the most current video images, old frames in the buffer are discarded rather than forwarded. In a particular embodiment, when the buffer is full, the next arriving delta frame packet is discarded. To avoid distortion, each subsequent delta frame is discarded until a new key frame eventually arrives. If the buffer is still full when the key frame arrives, the buffer is purged and the new key frame is added.

Graphical data generated for the simulated virtual desktop is converted to drawing commands and returned to the client for rendering. In other embodiments, a separate terminal server session is established for each of a plurality client side monitors. Drawing commands for a specified client side monitor is sent from the terminal server to the client over the corresponding session for the client side monitor.

    Abstract: Disclosed are methods for remote users of a collaborative application to generate annotation information, send that annotation information to an application sharer device, and receive back a display combining output of the collaborative application with the annotation information. A collaborative application display is visible on an application viewer's screen. To make an annotation, a user draws over the shared display. The annotation is intercepted and sent to the sharer. On the sharer, the annotation is graphically blended with the display produced by the collaborative application. The combination is then sent to the remote viewers for display. The sharer may visually indicate, via color or a text flag, for example, the source of each annotation. The sharer may time out an annotation, or may delete the annotation if the collaborative application's display has scrolled underneath the annotation, causing the annotation to “lose its place” in the display and become meaningless.

The multiple monitors include a display connected to the first computing device and one or more displays connected to other computing devices. A remote session is established between the first computing device and the second computing device. Graphics commands are generated for first and second display drivers at the first computing device as if a multi-display configuration is active at the first computing device. The first display driver is associated with a display at the first computing device. The second display driver doesn't have an associated display at the first computing device. Graphics are displayed from the graphics commands for the first display driver at the display at the first computing device. Graphics commands for the second display driver are remoted to the second computing device.
